Thank you so much for your donations! We now have enough Wobble Chairs for every student to be included! Your support shows our students that they are loved and cared for and that we are all behind them supporting them in their learning because it is important! You are truly appreciated! :)”

  • Wobble Baby, Wobble Baby, Wobble Baby, Wobble (Yeah)

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

I would like to thank you so much for donating to our project to get Wobble Chairs! When we found out that our project was fully funded my classroom was in an uproar! The students in my homeroom class were the first to hear and they immediately started asking me who had cared about their project and donated. It shocked me that they expected people not to care and made me even happier to see their expressions when they realized you, among our other donors, decided to give your hard earned money to make their classroom more enjoyable! You cared about them! :)

I was asked every day when the Wobble Chairs would be arriving and so we began counting down the days until they would finally arrive! Overnight I set one box on each of their tables and removed all chairs from my classroom. The next morning I waited patiently to see what would happen. It didn't take long, as the first students walked in they immediately went back outside to let all of their classmates know that the chairs had arrived! They ripped open the boxes and, after a tutorial on how to put them together, began constructing them and testing them out! It was hard to capture good photos due to the fact the students were so excited, spinning in their chairs, and testing to make sure that they wouldn't fall over. It was a magnificent day!

Not only did the students enjoy the chairs, but there was a huge change in the atmosphere of my classroom. I saw a decrease in students asking to go to the restroom or nurse due to sitting too long. Students no longer worried about laying in the floor or moving around the classroom. They were happy sitting in their Wobble Chairs, and when needed, spinning in them. The spinning did not make any noise and would never fall over. It was an amazing way for students who needed to fidget to be able to do something while they listened or worked! It was amazing to see that the science behind the chairs was actually working, and I was getting way more responses from the students which showed me that they were still paying attention! It helped keep their brain active and engaged!

This project was an amazing success and it's all because of you! Thank you so much for investing in the lives of our students! Your impact showed them that they had people who care for them as well as helps them achieve more in the classroom! I can't thank you enough! :)”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Williams

"Stay in your seat and do not move!" That's what students are use to hearing when they are in a classroom. When a student leans back in a chair, sits in the floor, sits on a table, lays down, or anything else unconventional they get scolded and hear a long conversation about how it's unsafe that honestly makes no sense! Newer and newer studies show that students should not stay still while they work. Studies show that students are able to access more of their mind and are more creative when they are able to move around or get in weird positions. This is why when we are thinking we shake our legs or end up laying upside down. A 2013 report from the Institute of Medicine concluded that children who are more active “show greater attention, have faster cognitive processing speed and perform better on standardized academic tests than children who are less active.” By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student creativity and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. These wobble chairs will allow my students to move in their seats without making a lot of noise or falling out when they lean back. Allowing them to concentrate and be creative while they are in an environment where they lack the ability to move around while they work, and also prevent distraction of their fellow classmates. They are also really fun!
