This past school year, CTE graciously replaced the classroom tables with restaurant grade stainless steel tables to match the tables in the other Foods Lab. This was imperative so that when the two Foods teachers switch classes, they can each continue their prep work as normal on the stainless tables in a similar setup. Unfortunately, one kitchen has chairs that impede traffic and cause a tripping hazard and the other has stool seating. With stool seating like the ones I am requesting, the stools can be easily stacked under the tables like in a commercial kitchen and the space can be utilized more efficiently, more safely, and more quickly for labs. When the tables were replaced, the chairs that were left were too tall to be stored under the tables, making the casters useless and the lab space stationary. We need to have stools for students to sit on that are the appropriate height and are also easily stored away. A lot of work has been done on this classroom in the last year to get it into culinary grade order. I have moved out and replaced old equipment, painted, and put in work orders to have the countertops reattached and glued. With a year-long sub, things were a bit of a mess. These stools would make this classroom feel like an official demonstration kitchen and would greatly help all the family and consumer science teachers and all the students who utilize this workspace. We also need two carts to move the supplies back and forth when we swap rooms. The coloring books are for when there's downtime after labs!
