  • Beating the Indoor Recess Blues!

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

WOW! What a blessing this funded project has been. My students are thrilled to be able to utilize all of these new materials during indoor recess days. Winters can get long in Wisconsin, so being able to provide exciting new ideas is amazing.

The origami is great, as it works on students fine motor and direction following. My students are also thrilled with the opportunity to simply be creative and crafty. The key chains and washi tape allows them the opportunity to do just that, be creative.

I also love that my students can play games like Mastermind and Checkers. It is great to see them off of their ipads and challenging their brains in a different way.

Thank you again for your continued support and generosity. You have helped to make our cold days that much warmer.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Blackburn

  • Financial Fun

    Funded Aug 28, 2022

Thank you so much for supporting my project Financial Fun. What I love most about these materials is that they are versatile and can be used in other areas as well. My students were thrilled to be able to use these materials, especially the scented markers... wow, do they ever like scented markers!

The scoreboard is another big hit, as my competitive class works to earn points for the team. They LOVE being able to use the scoreboard and ask to take turns changing the score.

Thank you for helping to make Financial Literacy fun!”

  • To Infinity... And Beyond

    Funded Mar 28, 2022

THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart! I am beyond excited to incorporate a Toy Story-themed transformation into my classroom. We have not had the opportunity to incorporate this transformation yet, but I am anxiously anticipating the time that we can. From the spaceship tent to the table clothes and pizza slices, students are going to be over the moon excited to blast off into Pizza Planet. Much like my other transformations, I will be incorporating both math and literacy rotations that focus on our Power Standards. Thank you again for making this transformation come to light, for sharing in my vision of an engaged classroom, and for always believing in me.

Thank you, to infinity and beyond!”

  • Plus-Plus for Problem Solving is a Win-Win

    Funded Dec 16, 2021

These Puls-Plus blocks have been a wonderful addition to our classroom. Students flock. to these critical thinking blocks during indoor recess, and when STEM bins are pulled out for extended learning.

To celebrate National "Lego" Day (even though they are not Legos) students created a creature for their 2nd Grade Buddies. The second graders then wrote about their creature. In the end, we created stop motion videos and did a voice-over, reading what the second graders wrote. It was an amazing experience that utilized many avenues of technology.

Thank you again for your generosity. I can't wait to see how else the students will use these incredible tools.”

  • One and Only

    Funded Nov 18, 2021

This is AMAZING! Thank you so much for all of your support in bringing this project to life. My students were thrilled to know that they were going to be able to continue their journey after reading One and Only Ivan, they have grown to adore the characters in the book and were sand to think about the book coming to an end.

I strongly believe in being flexible and following student interests, especially in the area of reading, so once we find a book of interest I love being able to continue on the journey.

Thank you again for all of your support and for helping me build lifelong readers.”

  • Building Positive Mathematicians and More

    Funded Aug 13, 2021

The funding of this project has been incredible. It may not be my usual "transformation" project, or "flexible seating" project, but it is helping me to fill a deficit I have seen in my last few years of teaching(problem-solving). I am so excited to continue to challenge my class and to help build a foundation of strong problem solvers. With the potential of looping with my current class, there is so much I will be able to do with this professional development. Thank you for believing in my vision and helping make it a reality.”

  • Indoor Crafting During Recess

    Funded Jun 10, 2021

Thank you so much for all of your generosity. Thanks to you we were able to purchase indoor recess items for students to utilize. The great thing about these items is that it encourages fine motor skills, and it also encourages students to disconnect from their device for a half hour. the students were thrilled to receive their Perler beads, patterns, and books to help spark their creativity. These items will especially come in handy during our nice cold Wisconsin winters when we are forced to stay inside for a few days at a time.

Thank you again for making this possible!”

    With gratitude,

  • The Floor Is Lava

    Funded May 6, 2021

THANK YOU so much for helping me complete this project. I can not wait to bring this idea to life. In two weeks, students will be stepping into their classroom where there will be 10 challenges across the room; to complete these challenges students first have to get to them. The floor will be covered in red, "lava", and they will need to avoid the red at all costs.

Excitement will be high on this day, but the engagement will be even higher.

Thank you again for making this transformation possible.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Blackburn

  • Headphones, Microphones, Read!

    Funded Mar 6, 2021

Thank you, thank you, thank you! The addition of these headphones has been a gamechanger. With these headphones, I am now able to hold guided reading groups throughout the day. With our current COVID mitigations, we are unable to pull students into groups. Now that we have headphones with microphones I can have students log into Google Meet and meet with them through the screen. Students are able to read aloud, share ideas, hold discussions and answer questions together.

Thank you for allowing my students to continue their love of reading. I look forward to each day I get to listen to them read.”

  • Independent Art Activities

    Funded Oct 1, 2020

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am so excited to have this project fully funded. When I first created it I had no idea what the school year would bring us. I wanted some activities that would encourage students to step away from their ipads and allow for them to be socially distanced, especially during indoor recess. These items will allow students to tap into their creativity while completing an activity that many would deem as relaxing. My students were ecstatic when I showed them the options they would have, and many asked if they could already stay in for recess to use them.

Thanks again for all of your support.”

We are the largest elementary school in our district! The community is phenomenal with a lot of parent involvement, but yet we are the elementary school that has the lowest income average. This doesn't mean our students don't try their best, or don't enjoy coming to school everyday. We have an extremely supportive administration, and a staff who always puts students first. I love this school, and our students deserve the best!
