  • A Printer; to Print, Scan & Copy Their Dreams

    Funded Aug 26, 2021

These printers have made a HUGE impact in my classroom. Our school has a computer lab for students with only two printers and as a result of misuse, one of them is not operational at the moment. Many of our teachers try to include typing skills, and ask students to create projects, artwork and presentations to bring to class but because we only had one printer for the entire school it became a hard task.

With these printers I am now able to have my students use them to complete tasks for their classes, as well as printing items for their personal needs. Many of my students did not have devices at home before Remote Learning much less a printer.

So thank you so much for this gift to my students I would be cherished for a long time to come.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. B.

  • Bridging the Gap

    Funded Aug 3, 2021

Your donation has enabled me to encourage my students to not only embrace technology in school but also in their everyday lives. Tech is sweeping through our generation and my students are unfortunately behind the curve. They had some experience using old school Chromebooks but the MacBook opens up a whole new world of technology to them, they are now able to understand how tech connects through laptop, phones and other Smart devices. They use it to do research in class. create designs for Yearbook and even downloading Apps to improve connectivity and organization skills. As a teacher it gives me joy that I am able to provide them with a variety of experience with your help that serve to broaden their perspective on life in general.

They are having so much fun with the camera, taking pictures of each other and various activities in the school community. It is a learning experience for them, not only to learn the mechanics of the camera but also how to care for a piece of equipment that they are responsible for.

Thank you so much for being willing to provide my students with these gifts.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. B.

  • Fostering Creativity!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

I am eternally gratefully for the seemingly simple supplies that my students were blessed with. I am a Special Education teacher in Brooklyn, NY who works with a variety of students with varying abilities. These resources allowed me to differentiate and integrate a UDL teaching design into my classroom. This basically means my kids were able to express themselves in other ways than traditional writing. My freshman student and I created posters to celebrate woman after reading several poems by Maya Angelou and in an elective class with my older students I had groups of students design and build small "idyllic" neighborhoods.

My administration was almost as enthusiastic at the presence of these supplies as the children, due to budgets restraints in administration and my personal finances I was only able to provide the bare minimum and it was not meeting the needs of my 5 classes of over 70 children. My kids were happy to be using quality supplies and asked if I robbed a store.

Thankfully these supplies are items that can be reused continuous and I plan using them next week in two classes for creative projects in ELA and Criminology. I even plan to refine my Unit from last year on understanding how social factors influence crime in neighborhoods to ave groups focus on important buildings/landmarks that would be necessary for a "good" neighborhood.

Again thanks so much these supplies will go a loonnng way in providing the fun, interactive, quality education that my kids deserve.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. B.

I am a Special Education teacher in Brooklyn, NY. I teach ELA, Global History, Living Environment, and Criminology. My kids range from Grades 9-12th. As a Special Education teacher, I am very cognizant of the fact that my kids learn in many different ways and need their learning to be as versatile as they are. These include; building, drawing or any type of activity that allows them to express themselves in non- traditional (reading & writing) ways. For this to happen I am in desperate need of supplies; from glue guns to colored paper. I created this page in hope that some kind soul would assist me in procuring these well-needed supplies.
