My goal is to begin incorporating the same type of readings that I personally enjoy into my classroom. I want my students to develop a stronger love of reading. I want them to have choices in their reading selections and find personal benefit from what they read. The requested book 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens will be incorporated into our daily 3-5 min shared reading time with opportunity for personal reflection. Adding to our classroom library is one of my goals. Students appetite for reading slowly decreases as they matriculate through school. There are several reasons for this, but my goal is to eliminate the lack of access to challenging, meaningful books.
