Let's Brighten Our Classroom With Colors!
Funded Oct 14, 2010Thank you so much for donating to my project. All of the materials will be used to enrich the core academic areas with art. My students perform the best by making and using visual models, and all of you have made this possible for my students. Words cannot explain the impact you will make on my students learning. We cannot believe that we have already received most of the materials. The kids were very excited about the crayons, because they all have their own brand new set to use, and the kids who didn't have scissors are able to use the classroom set without having to wait for a classmate to finish. We cannot wait to post pictures of our projects for you to see. Thank you again!”

Funded Dec 31, 2009Thank you so much for taken the time to read my proposal. My children are excited about receiving the science discovery chest. The magnets are perhaps their favorite drawer to visit. I can see a lot of lesson being taught with these wonderful materials. The greenhouse that was requested ended up being discontinued, so I ordered a buzzer system to be used with my kids. The buzzer system will allow us to play games and for me to ask questions while having the students buzz in with their responses. So far the kids have shown a huge interest in being able to buzz in, but are easily disappointed when someone buzzes in before them. This system is reinforcing good sportsmanship and making the kids interested in participating. Thank you again for you generous gift, you have definitely made learning fun for my students.”

Adding the Wow Factor to Math
Funded Nov 18, 2009Let me begin by saying thank you so much for all the materials you have generously donated to my classroom. My first graders have already begun using the art starter kit to make visual representation of math facts. We are currently working on subtraction word problems and it helps tremendously for the students to be able to use a hands on approach. The glitter that was sent has so far been used to make classroom posters, and decorate craft projects in science. The kids are really enjoying the visual approach to learning.
Now the measuring kit that has been sent is amazing. The kids are starting to understand that things can be measured in different ways. So far we have used the inch worms to measure the length of objects, and also the height. Pretty soon we will begin using the gigantic feet for measuring in inches. I know that when I see the light bulb go off on their faces during math it is because of the wonderful materials that you sent us. Thank you again!”

Bringing a Little Technology into Math
Funded Feb 2, 2009This is a small token of gratitude for your generosity. The overhead projector has made a huge impact in my classroom. I find my students staying on task, and raising their hands more to get a chance to answer questions with the manipulative set that you have graciously donated to us. My students are doing so much better in mathematics, and I know it has a lot to do with the new materials.
With the economical times we are all facing, I know that I would never have received an overhead projector and manipulative's. For students who are easily distracted, you have made it possible for them to stay focused on the task for a longer period of time.
Without generous people like you, many classroom would not have resources that are vital for students to achieve and succeed.
