  • Share the Love, Donate Gloves!

    Funded Apr 4, 2024

We want to express our sincere gratitude for your thoughtful donation of gloves and wipes to our preschool class. Keeping our little ones clean and healthy is a top priority, and your generous contribution helps us maintain a safe and hygienic environment for our students.

These supplies are essential for our daily activities and hygiene routines, and thanks to your kindness, we can ensure that our students stay clean and protected throughout the day. Your support means so much to us and makes a big difference in our ability to provide the best care for our preschoolers.

Thank you once again for your generosity and for thinking of us!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Tarko

  • Story Time Brought to Life

    Funded Aug 3, 2023

The flannel board stories donated have livened up our story time. The flannel board included allows us to display the story pieces for all to see. These materials have helped us to create an interactive engaging experience. This helps instil a love of literature amongst our youngest learners.

Many of our students do not yet have the language to answer questions about stories or retell story events. These visuals provide the opportunity for students to share their knowledge which they might not be able to verbalise. You have help us make story time an interactive, enjoyable activity for all!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Tarko

  • Sensory Station for Special Education!

    Funded Apr 3, 2023

We are so grateful for the supplies for our sensory station. These sensory materials have helped engage our learners, which can often be challenging for our young students with disabilities.

The farm animals, sand and trucks added to our sensory station have helped set the stage for collaborate play. Drawing the students next to each other allows the opportunity to help foster peer interaction, focusing on turn taking and facilitating pretend play skills. These high interest materials have done just that!

These materials willl be used again and again to make preschool learning fun and engaging. Thank you again for your generous gift!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Tarko

  • Inclusive Preschool Culmination With Local Author DJ Steinberg

    Funded Apr 20, 2021

You made our amazing culmination experience possible! Our students and families had a challenging year and our wish to end it with a culmination to remember came true. Our students were delighted to have a real author, DJ Steinberg, present his book, Kindergarten, Here I Come.

The students received the signed books ahead of time with a personalized message from the author. This way they became familiar with the book prior to the reading and excited with anticipation. Their faces lite up with joy as they participated in the reading, often following along in their own copies. DJ Steinberg's enthusiasm was contagious. Now the students are excited to go off to kindergarten. You have helped instill a love of literature and maybe a future author or two.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Tarko

  • Creating With My Little Hands at Home

    Funded Dec 9, 2020

Our students were delighted to see the materials you so generously sponsored. Many of our students lacked basic basic school supplies while learning at home. They are now able to engage in art projects.

The paint and markers provide our students with the opportunity to create again and again. We are learning about pets and the students will get tp create animal collages with the glue provided.

These art supplies allow our students to enjoy learning and develop their fine motor schools while learning at home.”

  • Sensory Splashing Water Play

    Funded Sep 2, 2019

We love to explore! Each week our teacher puts different fun materials for us to play with in our new sensory table. In this table we have got to play with water, kinetic sand, shaving cream, ice and magnets.

Sometimes we need to unwind and theses sensory experiences help us calm our bodies. Sometimes we have trouble engaging and find ourselves in our own world. These sensory experiences provide an opportunity for us to connect with our environment and each other.

Thanks for helping to make learning fun!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Tarko

  • Calm and Cozy Group Time

    Funded Mar 20, 2019

We are extremely grateful for the calming, cozy carpet. The carpet is where we all come together several times during the school day. We begin our day on the carpet singing welcome songs and discussing our daily schedule. Our yoga time as well as music and movement activities are held here . This relaxing carpet, with designated spots for all helps ensure each child feels truly welcome, comfortable and at ease.

The children were delighted to walk into the classroom and see a picture of themselves on their very own special spot on our brand new carpet!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Tarko

Our students need hands-on sensory equipment to engage with the world and promote interaction alongside their typically developing peers. Our program has no funds available for equipment. Many of our students struggle with connecting to both their environment as well as to each other. We need supplies to create a variety of hands-on engaging, sensory activities to help develop these skills. The sand and water toys, including the Magnetic Fishing set, Waterway Pipe Builders, Sift and Find Alphabet and Number shells will provide opportunities, with adult and peer support, to encourage exploration. The large outdoor building materials will provide opportunities for our students to practice manipulating objects with their hands and opportunities for building cooperative play. The Sand and Water storage Center and Equipment Cart are necessary to transport and store toys as all our materials need to be brought inside at the end of each day. We are in desperate need of materials for our young learners!
