Imagine the last month of school in 4th and 5th grade. My challenge is to continue inspiring young readers to find meaning and inspiration through literature. My 4th and 5th grade combination class is comprised of 33 struggling readers, a majority of whom are English language learners and are challenged by learning to speak, read, and write English. I have chosen interesting and relevant chapter books throughout the year to inspire them to read. Most of the students in our Title 1 school do not normally read at home regularly. Throughout this year however, reading is becoming something the students enjoy.
