iPod Needs to Dock
Funded Mar 7, 2013Our iPod dock has arrived, so the dancing, singing and merriment has begun!
As the famous musician Vicki Baum once said, "there are short-cuts to happiness, and dancing is one of them." I have never seen my students smile more than when they are singing and dancing. It is truly a thing of beauty to see! Thank you for being a part of this through your generous donations.
Not only does our dancing and singing make us happy, but is also helps keep us in good health. We have been doing a lot of jumping, twisting, turning and shaking. We are definitely getting a good dose of exercise every day!
Once again, thank you for your kind donation to my classroom. I wish you much happiness in your lives :)”

iPod Touch Wanted
Funded Feb 25, 2013Thank you so much for purchasing an iPod for our classroom. We have had so much fun dancing and singing since the arrival of the iPod! We love to move our bodies to the beat and smile as we do so.
Thanks to the arrival of the iPod, we can also begin to practice for our kindergarten culmination songs and dances. Can you imagine the smiles on the parents' faces when they see their little ones perform? I assure you that on that day their hearts will feel a little fuller.
Thank you for making my students and me happier with the gift of music, song and dance.”

Mini Notebooks in Kindergarten
Funded Aug 10, 2012My students and I are so happy to have received our notebooks. Thank you so much for funding this project for us! In the short time that we have had them, we have used them in many ways.
My students love to use the notebooks during language arts to log into Starfall.com. Starfall is a program where my students practice phonics, family words, and sight words using interactive games. They have also used them to complete district online assignments and assessments. My students have also used the notebooks to do research for science class. They are learning all about arachnids and they are using the internet to gather information for their report.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting the learning that is happening in our classroom.”

LeapFrog Technology
Funded Oct 21, 2012How wonderful it is to see my students engrossed in an activity. With the LeapPads, the LeapFrog Scribble and Write, and the Tag Readers that you so generously helped fund, my students won't stop working. I have to repeat that it is is clean up time too many times!
My students love independent work time now that they have these educational toys to use. With the LeapPads, they are learning about letter names and sounds. They are learning about one to one correspondence in math. They are able to create many artistic drawings and they can even learn about animals for science.
The Tag Readers, though, are my favorite learning toy. My students are beginning readers, so there are many words that they struggle to read. When they encounter a difficult word, the word is read to them and this allows them to continue with the book. This gives them more confidence in their reading abilities.
I can't thank you enough for your gifts. May your generosity be returned ten fold.”

Funded May 8, 2012My students have never been more excited about reading. And it is all thanks to you! The Leapfrog Tag readers that you so generously purchased for us have created reading monsters out of my students.
My students have asked me to get more Leapfrog books and pens so that they don't have to fight over them. I agree with them! My students are early readers, so there are many words that they still struggle to read. The pens allow them to continue to read a book even after they have encountered a challenging word. This gives them more confidence in their reading abilities.
Once again, thank you!”

An iPad for Kinder
Funded Apr 25, 2012A million thanks to you! My students love the ipad. They can't get enough of it. If it were up to them, they would be on it all day long.
Since its' arrival to our classroom, the ipad has been used in various ways. The students have used it during language arts to review letter names and sounds, They have used it during math time to play fun and challenging math games. And they have used it for science to verify that frogs can be other colors beside green.
The ipad has also been used as an assessment tool for me. I have used it to administer a district mandated test that can be done online. Using the ipad has brought great pleasure to my students as well as myself.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your generosity is greatly appreciate!”

A Laptop To Reach The Top (Part 2)
Funded Feb 5, 2012My students and I love the laptop! In the the short weeks since it arrived, it has become indispensable to our classroom.
My students love to use it during language arts time to play online literacy games such as those found on starfall.com. During math time, we use it in conjunction with our math program to access the online lessons and interactive math stories. During science time, we have used it to research many scientific queries. My students' favorite discovery was that frogs come in different colors beside green.
I have used the laptop to take attendance and to give formal and informal assessments to my students. I have found that my students seem to respond better to taking assessments on the laptop rather than the usual paper and pencil format.
The laptop has become an essential tool in our classroom. Thank you from the bottom of my heat for your generous gift. You generosity is greatly appreciated :)”

Funded Jan 17, 2012My students love the tablet! They can't get enough of it. If it were up to them, they would be on it all day long.
Since it's arrival to our classroom, the tablet has been used in various ways. The students have used it for language arts to review the letter names and sounds. They have used it during math time to play fun and challenging math games. And they have used it for science to verify that frogs indeed are other colors besides green. (This has been their favorite thing to do with the tablet thus far).
The tablet has also been used as an assessment tool for me. I have used it to give a district mandated test that can be done Ondine. Using the tablet rather than a desktop computer was much faster and easier for me.
The tablet has brought great pleasure to my students as well as myself. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Your generosity is greatly appreciated :)”
