Too Noisy! Part 2
Funded Nov 29, 2017My students and I love the wireless headphones! There is definitely less noise and more learning going on in our classroom. Prior to the arrival of the wireless headphones, we had school provided wired headphones. But, we didn't use the school headphones because my students had a hard time untangling and plugging them into the ipads. It would take too long to untangle and plug the headphones in, so it was just easier to tell the kids to use the ipads without the headphones. As a result, there was too much noise. The kids were on different apps., there was background music and sounds playing loudly. This was very disruptive to the rest of the class. It got so bad, that we stopped using the ipads all together! Now that we have wireless headphones and the kids don't have to worry about untangling wires, the ipads are back as a learning tool in our classroom.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity in supporting our classroom. May your good deed be returned to you ten fold. Sending you a big hug!”

Kindergarten is Paperless, Again!
Funded Aug 24, 2017Thank you so much for your kind donation. I know that there are many great projects to choose from, so thank you for selecting mine to support.
Unfortunately, we are only given two reams of paper per month at my school. This is hardly enough to make copies for classwork, homework, and parent notifications. I always end up bringing my own paper supply from home to make do. Having 30 extra reams of paper, thanks to you, will hopefully last me a while.
I have already used a few reams of paper to make copies of classwork and homework assignments. I have even used paper to have the kids do your Donors Choose thank you notes, which you will receive shortly. I have also used the paper to print out color copies of clip art and photos to enhance my lessons. Having copy paper is essential in a classroom. Thank you for making this possible for me.
Once again, thank you for supporting my classroom and God bless you.”

Can't Print Without Ink, Part 2.
Funded Dec 3, 2016I want to express my sincerest gratitude to you. It is people like you who give through acts of kindness that make our future a better one. It is a better, brighter future because you are investing in our children.
Thanks to your donation to our classroom project, I have seen an improvement in the English language skills of my kindergartners. Because I am able to print images in full color, my students are having very sophisticated conversations about those images. They are using more vocabulary, more descriptive words, adding details and creating ideas. They are even working on their public speaking skills as they are becoming comfortable with speaking in front of their classmates. Thank you for making this possible!
May God bless you and may your good deed be returned to you ten fold.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Murillo Penarrieta

Funded Aug 9, 2016My students always get so excited when I take out our classroom prize box. They can't wait to see what is in it, choose a prize and then show it off to their classmates and family. It is great to see the smile of satisfaction that my students get once they have done something to merit a trip the the prize box. Thy are so proud of themselves!
Thank you so much for your very generous donation that allows for our prize box to always be full of wonderful goodies. My students are always so motivated to do well thanks it's awesome contents.
My students and are are truly appreciative of the support that you have shown our classroom. May your good deed be returned to you ten fold. Have a wonderful holiday season and God bless you.”

Funded Dec 1, 2015I am so happy to have received our new classroom carpet to sit on. The one that we had was already ten plus years old. It was so dirty that no amount of cleaning could make it look clean enough. It was really embarrassing to have such a carpet in my classroom. Not only was it dirty, but it had tears everywhere. My kids are so happy to have a clean carpet, that they have made it a habit to wipe their feet on the mat before entering the classroom. They want to keep the carpet as clean as possible for as long as possible. It is really cute when I hear them reminding each other to wipe their feet before entering the room. The overall look of our classroom is enhanced thanks to our new carpet. Thank you so much! Much appreciation for your constant support to our classroom.”

Books As Christmas Gifts
Funded Nov 28, 2015You have always been there for my students and I. Thank you for that! You do not know what it means to me to have someone who is always there to meet our classroom needs. This project was especially important to me because reading is my passion. Knowing that my students have their own books to keep at home and that they themselves are learning to appreciate and love books fills me with happiness. My students were very excited to open their Christmas gift and find a book from a favorite Disney character. They tell me that they loved their book and that they are happy that they get to keep it at home. Thanks to you, we also got a few books to replenish our classroom library. Because my students read books from the classroom library every day, some books needed to be replaced. Thank you so much for encouraging the love of reading through your donation! As always, thank you for being our most special friend and supporter.”

Kinder Is Paperless, Again!
Funded Dec 1, 2015Thank you so much for your kind donation which has allowed me to replenish my classroom paper supply. We are only given one ream of paper per month at my school. Having 30 extra reams of paper, thanks to you, will hopefully last me a while.
I have already used a few reams to make copies of classwork and homework assignments. I have even used the paper to have the kids make their Donors Choose thank you notes. I have also used the paper to print out color copies of clip art or pictures for my lessons. These colored copies enhance my lessons because they show details that otherwise wouldn't be seen if the copies were made in black and white. Having copy paper is essential in a classroom. Thank you for making this possible for me.
Once again, thank you for supporting my classroom and God bless you.”

Funded Dec 18, 2015I want to express my deepest gratitude to you for your support and very kind donation to my classroom. The wireless headphones have arrived and they have made a huge impact to our classroom.
My students use iPads and computers all the time for assessments, learning and reviewing concepts, for games, and to watch educational videos. Unfortunately, the noise level can get too loud when the devices are on. Having wireless headphones has decreased the noise level significantly. In addition, my students do not have to worry about tangled wires and plugging in the actual headphones. The wireless headphones automatically pair up with the iPads and computers. My students can get to work immediately. The wireless headphones are also easier to store.
Thank you so much for giving us the gift of silence during technology time. It is truly precious! My students and I send you our best!”

Funded Dec 24, 2015It overwhelms me to know that there are so many kind and generous souls, like yourself, who care so much about public education. Thanks to you we now have color ink. Not only does color ink add beauty to our classroom, but it also aids in my students' acquisition of language.
I use many pictures and photographs during English and Spanish language development time. I find that when the pictures/photographs are in color ink, the more conversation there is during the lesson. There is more conversation between my students because the details in the pictures are enhanced by the color. I hear many "oohs and aahs" as I show the pictures. My students are ready to talk and describe what they see. And, the more talk there is, the more learning there is!
Color ink is very expensive and something the our school has stopped purchasing for us. So I thank you for your kind support in helping to buy the ink for us. May your good deed be returned to you ten fold. Have a wonderful day!”

Ms. Murillo Penarrieta
