  • All Smiles & Looking Sharp in Uniform Shirts

    Funded Aug 13, 2021

Students have been smiling under their masks as they receive their uniform shirts and dental supplies. Eli said, "Thank you for helping me because my mom doesn't have money." Leah said, " Thank you for my blouse because we have a new baby and my mom needs to buy things for the baby like diapers and formula and she can't buy our school supplies." Students are happy and grateful to receive your gifts. Parents have also expressed to me how helpful it is to get support during these hard times. Thank for your generosity and for caring for our students.”

  • Personal Protective Equipment and More

    Funded Mar 10, 2021

Thank you so much for bringing this project to life! During these uncertain times, teachers need digital resources more than ever. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards will benefit 1st, 2nd and a Special Education teacher who works with students K-5th grade as they support their students with additional materials that they normally pay for out of their pockets.

Using personal protective materials like the thermometer, mats and the hand washing timer will allow students to feel safe as they get used to being in school in person again! Students are eager and excited to wash their hands using these timers! They are looking forward to using the multicultural markers to draw themselves.”

  • How Much Should I Save?

    Funded May 10, 2021

Thank you for contributing to this project that helped me teach my students about financial literacy. My students were super excited to see the play money and the games that will help them learn about money. They said, "we can't wait to use the coins and the cool games."

Students will practice counting money, learning about saving and about being responsible consumers. I hope to inspire them to save money for college tuition.

In our economy unit, they learned about making products and selling them to make a profit.”

  • Math Fluency Please!

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

Thank you for your donations that enabled us to get these awesome materials for math.

My students were happy to receive these materials. Unfortunately due to the pandemic guidelines, students are not allowed to share any materials at this time. However, these materials will be used during the 2021-2022 school year. At that time our school district is planning for a full reopening of our schools.

Only four of my students have been back in person and the rest continued distance learning. All of my students want you to know that they appreciate your generosity and that they feel great knowing that people care about them.”

  • Jarret Lerner Book Study

    Funded Mar 19, 2021

I want to let you know how much joy these books have brought into our classroom! My students are especially enjoying The Give This Book a Title book. We use it to draw and to inspire us to write about numerous topics.

My students have become confident artists and inspired readers and writers thanks to Jarrett Lerner's books. My students are so happy to know that they are people out there who care enough to donate to our projects.

They were particularly impressed to know that the author himself donated to our class.

Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts.”

  • Just the Basics! Supplies and Food

    Funded Jan 18, 2021

My students were extremely elated to receive yummy snacks which they enjoyed at home while learning remotely. Their favorite snacks were the fish crackers, oreos, fruit gummies,Cherrios and granola bars. Evan said, "Thank you for the food!" Alexa said, "Thank you for everything you gave us a taste of (deluisinis) deliciousness!"

They have also used their art journals to draw daily after they meditate. Providing my students with art journals has been useful to continue teaching visual arts and to encourage them to draw to cope with the anxiety of not being in class with their friends.

My students said that they felt special because they know that they're kind people like you in the world who care about their well being. Aaron said. " My favorite thing that you gave us were the fish crackers."”

    Ms. Martinez

  • Let's Practice & Check Literacy Skills

    Funded Dec 5, 2020

Thank you so much for the "Let's Practice & Check Literacy Skills" materials. Using these books I will be able to have my students practice phonics & fluency, conventions, vocabulary and comprehension skills as soon as we go back in person in mid April.

These materials have VersaTiles, a self checking skill practice system. They are aligned to the Standards and are hands on materials that my students will be happy to use especially after so much time of working only online on their computers. It will be a fun way for my students to practice important literacy skills in science, social studies and informational texts.”

  • We, Will, Hear Better While on Zoom!

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

My students and I were so happy to receive headphones to use at home. These tools connect into the devices that they use for online classes. The headphones have helped students focus better on our lessons.

My students have big smiles on their faces now when we are on zoom because we have much better sound quality. Prior to having headphones so students had such severe sound issues that they could only participate by chatting. They are better able to focus because a lot of them share one room with their siblings which is distracting.

All my students have quickly gotten used to using the headphones and they always have them on.”

  • Making Strides to Health!

    Funded Nov 16, 2020

My students could not believe that they received sneakers! A lot of them told me that it was like getting an early Christmas gift. They all had huge smiles on their faces and they couldn't wait to try them on. They are happy to wear their shoes at home when we do Go Noodle, physical education activities and dancing. Some of my students have told me that they wear their tennis shoes when they are able to go on socially distanced walks with their families. They want you to know that they can't wait to go back to school so we can all walk, jog and run together.”

    Funded Jan 15, 2021

My students and I are so grateful to have received headphones. We were all super excited to have these wonderful and necessary tools for our lessons via zoom. The headphone have improved the sound quality of our distance learning. They have also improved students' ability to focus during class. Thank you for putting a huge smile on our faces and for caring about us during this difficult time. My students attend a K-8 span school located in Southern California. The 1,100 students who attend our school are latinos who all qualify for free meals. Our school is designated as a Title 1 school due to the highly empoverish area. The majority of our students are first generation Americans and the others are newly arrived immigrants from Mexico and Central America. Most families live in apartments and often live with other families in very small quarters. Due to the limited economic resources at home, students at our school obtain most of their enrichment via field trips or unique events planned by the school or teachers in their classrooms.
