Fluency, Fluency, Fluency 2
Funded Jan 25, 2012Thank you very much for your generous contribution towards our class project, Fluency, Fluency, Fluency 2. The iPod Touch project is now complete! We have a station of four, thanks to all the donors. The children can continue to do many activities to improve their fluency.
Now more students are having fun recording their reading and playing it back. This activity helps them notice if they are reading with expression or just for speed. The students are being very critical of themselves and then improving their reading. They have also had an opportunity to listen to stories on the iPods as they follow in their books. This activity has really helped my students who are struggling to read. Now that we have four 8 students can work together with timing and recording their fluency. The kids have better access to the iPods with the additional one you just provided. As a reward to good behavior and hard effort, the kids were also able to play educational reading games on the iPods. In addition, they were so nervous to record their acting out of stories. They were just giggling.
The children and I appreciate all of your donations. Your generosity has broaden our resources to improve our reading in a fun way. Thank you again and again!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Ben-Nissan
