  • We Love Clean Air!

    Funded Aug 2, 2020

Wow! What a great gift this air purifier has been for our classroom! Knowing that this machine is working every minute to clean the air that my students are breathing has been a weight off our shoulders. My students were initially nervous about being back in school together, but the presence of the air purifier has reassured them that our classroom is a safer place because our air is constantly being filtered and cleaned. Additionally, not one student or family member has been infected since the school year began. While I know it is not solely due to having an air purifier in the classroom, I have to think that it helps in some small way to minimize the chance of a student catching the infection at school and bringing it home.

Thank you once again for your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Ehrlich

  • Back to Basics

    Funded Aug 1, 2020

Thank you so much for funding this project for my students! These supplies have been a great help in our social-distanced classroom and have allowed students to participate in class in new ways. With our markers, now instead of sitting together on the carpet, each student has their own marker and white board that they can use to participate from their desk. Highlighters allow my students to practice the important life skill of finding important information embedded in a piece of writing, and learn an important study skill.

Finally, the paper allows them to publish many new writing pieces each week, and allows me to print individualized work for each student in the classroom.

Thank you again for your support.”

  • Future Artists of NYC!

    Funded Aug 31, 2020

Thank you again for your generous donation to support my students! The supplies in this project allowed me to create wonderful art take-home bags for each one of my students, and left additional bags to provide to the two new-admit students who have joined my room (so far!). My students have shared with me how much they love having paper, markers, glue and scissors at home to be able to do art projects on their remote learning days. They have created many different pieces of art - some even used their supplies to create decorations for their home and their bedrooms!

Without your support, my students would not have these supplies that allow them to express themselves creatively, and help keep their minds at ease despite all that is going on in the world. Thank you again for your generous support.”

  • Success and a Magic Carpet

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

Thank you so much for funding this carpet. Thanks to you, my students were able to enjoy a brand-new carpet in their meeting area at the front of the classroom. They loved how comfortable it was, and that they could use their carpet area for independent reading, group work, and regular lessons. They also took pride in having a brand new carpet and they worked hard to keep it looking brand new all year.

My students loved the freedom the carpet provided for them to be able to move around the classroom and do work in a different space during the day, rather than being stuck at their desks. Hopefully I will be able to use the carpet this year and help students maintain social distancing in the classroom!”

  • Learners on the Move!

    Funded Aug 8, 2019

Thank you for supporting this project for flexible seating! With the seating we received this year, my students have been able to enjoy moving around the classroom, working in small groups, and helping each other.

Group work becomes much easier when there are several different stations and spaces where they can grab a stool, pull up a chair, or grab a clipboard and move to meet their group partners. These chairs are also helpful for students who have difficulty focusing, as their can use them to wiggle while they sit and learn.

    Thanks for supporting this project!”

  • Back to Basics!

    Funded Aug 14, 2019

Thank you so much for funding this project. The impact has gone a long way. From the start of the year, I was able to reduce my supply list by 75% to help families in my school community save money. Throughout the year, we always had enough supplies to accomodate all of my students, especially the new-admit students who have come in throughout the year.

Even now, these supplies are helping my students complete their distance learning, as many of them took home notebooks, pencils and other items from this project to use in their homes during this difficult time.

Thank you for your generous support of my students!”

  • Make Our Space Complete!

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

Thank you so much for this generous donation. With your support, I was able to begin the year with a fully-stocked maker space. This allowed my students to complete various STEM and Art projects as they learned about different topics in social studies, science, math and language arts.

Additionally, we were able to put some materials to good use designing and creating Rube Goldberg Machines for a contest at a local musem! The students had a lot of creative ideas and used these materials to help them create their machines and make them work well.

Thank you for your continued support!”

  • Keeping It Clean!

    Funded Aug 30, 2019

Thank you for funding this project. Because of your support, we have been able to keep a clean, well-stocked classroom this year. It has greatly helped my students' attendance, as their ability to wipe down surfaces and have tissues at the ready has helped decrease the spread of germs. Even now, in the thick of flu season, my students have not been greatly impacted because we are able to keep our classroom clean and use our anti-bacterial wipes to kill germs.

Thank you again for your support in funding this project!”

  • Building a Diverse Book Library!

    Funded Jun 24, 2019

Thank you for your support on this project! Having extra shelf space has completely transformed how I organized my classroom library, and has allowed me to make the library larger and more accessible to students. Every day, my students visit the class library to search for new books, find books to research information in class, and learn new things. My students have loved that our extra shelf space means I can provide more books for them to read, and that they have an easier time finding books, since they aren't jammed together. Our new magnetic bookshelves have also allowed my students to highlight books that they are reading or have read, and share their love of books with each other.”

  • Building Future Architects!

    Funded Jul 16, 2019

Thank you so much for supporting this project! I am so excited that my students will have access to these incredible materials to help them learn about architecture around the world. I know these hands-on experiences that the materials will provide are going to make my students eager and enthusiastic about architecture!”
