  • We Need the Basics!

    Funded May 5, 2021

Thank you for your support of this project! It always seems that the last two months of the year are the hardest to get through, supply-wise. We always seem to run out of pencils, or have a sharpener on its last legs by May. Thanks to you, we avoided that issue this year. My students were so happy to see our supply of pencils replenished, and to have a working sharpener they could use to save time, rather than manually sharpening their pencils over the garbage can. Such a little thing like having pencils available can make such a huge difference in a classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Ehrlich

  • Outdoor Learning Fun!

    Funded May 5, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donation. My students were so happy to have these games and activities to use when we were able to head outside to play. My students greatly enjoyed their afternoon soccer games, learning classics such as spud and hot potato, and inventing their own games using the balls, cones and cornhole sets. The ability to bring my students outside to play, and to have these activities available for them was a great way to end the school year. Thanks to your support, my students started to build their teamwork and collaborative skills, as well as being happier in and out of school.”

  • Loving Our Library!

    Funded Mar 16, 2021

To say my students went wild for these new books would be an understatement. My class couldn't wait to borrow these new books to read in class and at home. They were, and still are, so excited to read some of the books they asked for, like Dog Man, Wayside School and even Harry Potter! These high-interest books have already made my students more interested in reading and taking out new books. They are checking the library every afternoon to see if their classmates have returned the book they want to read. I can only hope that as they grow, they will hold on to the excitement they feel when picking up a new book and reading.

Thank you for your continued support of my students.”

  • Where Do We Come From?

    Funded Mar 5, 2020

Thank you so much for funding this project! Each year, my students are so excited by this project where they learn and write about the countries their families came from. This project was inspired by my own third grade teacher, Mrs. Lyons who did this with me when I was a student. In fact, I still have my own book today, nearly 20 years later!

Though we were unable to use the physical books last school year due to school closures, my students this year will love using these books and creating their own informational booklets that they can bring home and keep forever.”

  • Ink Helps Us Think!

    Funded Oct 24, 2019

Thank you for funding this project. Having ink in our printer has helped us greatly in these crazy times. Because I was able to print documents for my students, I am able to send them home with individualized work to do in the event that our school is placed in remote learning due to COVID. It has also allowed me to find and use resources that I might not have been able to use otherwise, such as printing PDF documents so students could write, and printing books and materials that help students learn to read in a new language. Having a printer full of ink opens up many possibilities in today's classroom and it is thanks to you that my students are receiving these different resources!”

  • A Library to Love

    Funded Dec 17, 2020

Thank you so much for supporting this project. I can't tell you how excited my students were to see the selection of new books in our classroom library! Most of these books have been such a hit that I had to create a waiting list for them. It has also made my students much more excited to take books home, read independently, and talk with their friends about what they are reading.

The impact for my bilingual class has also been great. Students who were previously reluctant to read in Spanish have been borrowing these new, high-interest Spanish books and improving their language skills, as well as reading with their parents at home, creating a stronger connection over sharing a book.

Thank you once again for your continued support of my students!”

  • Art at Home!

    Funded Aug 31, 2020

Thank you so much for supporting this project. My students loved the art bags they received at the beginning of the year. Many of them used all of their supplies making projects on their remote days and doing art with their families. Now that we are back in school 5 days a week, we are using the remaining supplies to enhance our learning in school by incorporating art into our learning. Right now, while learning about Ancient Egypt, we have made papyrus and are building pyramids with these supplies to help students better understand this civilization.

Once again, thank you for your support!”

  • The Bare Necessities!

    Funded Aug 1, 2020

Wow! I can't begin to describe the smiles you put on the faces of 140 third-graders. This project allowed us to have a great start to the school year! Along with another teacher's project, these materials allowed us to provide multiple notebooks, pencils and erasers to each student in third grade - both in-person and remote! Students were so happy to have brand-new supplies waiting for them when they got to school, and have been putting them to good use. This also eased a great burden on the families in our community, which was the hardest-hit of all places in NYC by COVID this spring.

Beside myself, our families are so appreciative of your support of their childrens' education. Thank you again for your generous and continued support of our students!”

  • Keeping Clean in Class!

    Funded Aug 1, 2020

Thank you so much for funding this project! Now that we are eating breakfast and lunch in the classroom it is more important than ever to have these cleaning supplies at our disposal. We have been using our paper towels to clean our desks every day before and after eating to ensure that students have clean desks to eat on, and that they won't leave behind crumbs that may attract insects.

The masks from this project have also been incredibly useful. Many of the students come in with adult-sized masks for kid-sized faces. Being able to give them a mask that fits their face has been great for allowing my students to be more comfortable and for being sure the mask is doing its job rather than falling off a student's face. Finally, having gloves has been great because it allows me to help distribute food to students safely during meal times without touching it.

Thank you again for helping my students!”

  • Help Us Hear Our Teacher!

    Funded Aug 31, 2020

Thank you so much for helping bring this project to funding! These headphones have been a great help both in the classroom and at home. I was able to send a pair home with each student in the class. This allows them to focus on their remote classes and tune out other noises around the house, which has been very helpful for their learning. We have also used headphones in the classroom to allow students to hear their individualized lessons and to not distract others when they are on the computer.

Thank you for your generous support of my classroom!”
