  • You Can't Spell Heart Without Art!

    Funded Apr 2, 2024

Thank you so much for supporting this project! Your generosity allowed me to provide many new art supplies for my students. We put these supplies to good use all spring! After learning about natural wonders, my students were able to create different models to show unique features of these places around the world. They were also able to create cards, bracelets and sculptures for Mother's Day and Father's Day, surprising their parents with these gifts. Finally, these supplies allowed my students to express their creativity and create unique projects. I appreciate your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Ehrlich

  • Back to Basics

    Funded Aug 31, 2023

Thank you for supporting the Back to Basics project! Each year, I try to purchase or fund as many necessary supplies as possible to ease the financial burden on my students and their families. Over the years of doing this project, I have been able to cut my supply list by 50% or more, and have notebooks, folders, pencils and paper waiting for students on the first day of school. Thanks to your support, my students have every supply they need for a successful school year. I appreciate your support on this project!”

  • Sphero Today, Engineer Tomorrow!

    Funded Oct 21, 2022

Thank you so much for funding this project! My students have been putting their new Sphero robots to good use. We have been using them to practice our math, coding and strategic thinking skills weekly.

During math, we have practiced timing how fast a Sphero can cover 1, 2 and 3 meter distances, and using this to calculate the rate of speed, as well as practice using decimals. We have also practiced creating and measuring angles using our Sphero as we learned how to use protractors.

Sphero has also allowed my students to apply their coding knowledge, through different games and through coding Sphero to do certain functions. This has been a great benefit for my students and has improved their critical thinking skill!”

    With gratitude,

  • Pile on the Paper

    Funded Aug 31, 2023

Thank you so much for supporting this project! It is really true in my classroom that the most important supply is paper. Every day, I am printing resources to meet the needs of each individual child in my class. I am always using the printer paper to create group work, graphic organizers and resource sheets that help students with their reading and writing. In addition, the post-it paper allows me to get my students up and moving around during their learning time. We use it a lot to help create discussion groups where students can visit different stations, or get all of their ideas in one place.”

  • Masters of Mathematics

    Funded Aug 31, 2023

Thank you so much for these math books. Having these books to help students reinforce and improve their math skills has made a huge difference in my classroom this year! Many students used these book in class to build their multiplication, division and computation skills as independent practice. Others used this book as enrichment to extend their mathematical thinking. Now, at the end of the year, I can tell you this book has has a positive impact on student learning, leading to over 65% of students at or above grade level!”

  • Keeping Clean in Class!

    Funded Sep 24, 2022

Thank you so much for funding this project - I write with a long overdue update. The supplies you helped provide my classroom are still being used today! We have greatly appreciated having masks available in the classroom for my students who continue to mask daily. The filters for our air purifier have been doing a great job of cleaning the air in our classroom, and my students are amazed to see how much dirt the filters capture when it is time to replace them. Finally, the Lysol wipes have been wonderful for wiping down the desks of students when they are feeling ill, or just to clean up every couple of months to be sure our desks don't get too dirty.

Thank you again for supporting my classroom.”

    With gratitude,

  • Back to Basics

    Funded Jul 17, 2022

As I sit reflecting on the past year, I am so grateful that I had your support for this project. I can still see the smiles on my students' faces when they arrived in September to a desk full of supplies waiting for them!

Throughout the year, the supplies you helped provide were put to good use - my students left in June with full notebooks, worn-out pencils and brains full of new knowledge. Having these supplies greatly helped ease the financial burden of back-to-school shopping for these families, many of whom had just arrived in the United States. They also came in handy when I greeted newcomer students throughout the year, and I was able to provide them with notebooks, pencils, and all of the other supplies they needed.

Thank you for continuing to support my classroom and my wonderful students!”

  • Renewing Our Flexible Seating!

    Funded Feb 9, 2023

Wow! That was my students' reaction when they walked in and saw two brand-new bean bag chairs waiting for them. Trust me when I tell you they have been put to good use in the past few months. My students love using their flexible seating for group work, independent reading and to be closer to the SmartBoard. It has made their classroom experience that much better to be able to move from their desk to another workspace that may help them focus, receive help from a friend or just to relax.

I know these bean bag chairs will be put to good use for years to come. Thank you for supporting my students!”

  • Pile on the Paper!

    Funded Apr 7, 2022

As we approach the end of the school year, I am looking around at all of the charts, cards and practice pages on my students' desks. These are all thanks to your support of this project. I am so grateful to have had chart paper to make reference charts that students could use during lessons, printer paper to give students individualized practice pages for math, and cardstock to let students make cards for Mother's Day, Father's Day and birthdays.

These little things all make a huge impact in my classroom and in the education of my students. Thank you for supporting my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Ehrlich
