Becoming a PRO at Reading with an iPad Pro
Funded Feb 2, 2022Thank you so much for the new iPad. I have been using it with first graders to run a program called Seesaw. Specifically we have been doing small group instruction on critical literacy skills and have recently been working on reading CVC words.
The thing that the students love most about it is being able to interact with the slides and manipulate their answers. They can also check their answers by hearing what the correct answer is after they say it out loud. This frees up the teacher to work with more than one student at a time.
It has been something the students enjoy and it has been helpful as a teacher to have an extra option for working with students. Thank you so much for helping us get this technology!”

Creating and Connecting Using Chomebooks
Funded May 1, 2017Thank you so much for your generous donations to fund chromebooks for our classroom. The chromebooks have already been put to great use! The student are using them to type their essays and share them with me so they can get immediate feedback. They also send their essays to their peers to have them peer edited. While they are using the chromebooks, they are also improving their keyboarding skills! They are using them to do research and create slide shows. They are also using them to improve their math skills. These chromebooks have been a wonderful tool for my students.
The students are super motivated and love to use the chromebooks. Specifically they have been loving using them for a math program called ALEKS. This program walks student through the third grade math standards. When students finish a concept, they get part of a pie graph filled in. I have had ten student pass off the third grade standards and move on to fourth grade standards. They are already learning next years skills! One student has passed off fourth grade skills and is working on fifth grade math as a third grader. This is because the students have had access to chromebooks and are motivated to use them to learn.
This extra technology has impacted our class tremendously! I love seeing the students learn, grow and improve their skills. You have been a big part of making that happen. Thank you so much for your support!”

Funded Oct 5, 2016Thank you so much for your generous donations to my classroom. The two mini iPads I received are being used every day. My students love using them!
Students are using them during math time to use different math apps to help them memorize their multiplication facts in a way that is different than studying flash cards or doing math timed tests. They are also able to practice some of our other math concepts that we are learning in third grade on some of the apps.
I have several students that take turns using an app for struggling readers during our literacy block of time during the day. I am able to follow their progress and have been able to plan lessons based on needs that the app reports to me. This has not only been such a valuable tool for me as a teacher but also a huge benefit to my students as well.
This donation to our classroom has been wonderful. We have used the iPads so much already and they will continue to be used throughout the years to come. Thank you again for helping me provide technology to my students!”
