    Thank you all so much for your donation to my dance classroom. My students were SO excited to have fresh supplies for the new school year!! Your donation allowed me to provide each of my Dance 1 students with their very own personalized class folder where they can keep their work throughout the year. This has increased student productivity in class because they are able to come into class, grab their folder and pick up where they left off the day before. Each class has a designated color folder making it easier to keep my students work and space organized. Another big hit was the poster bags! I am able to store/carry my posters from room to room throughout the day much easier for students to use during class and has helped students to connect the movement vocabulary much quicker. The other class materials such as the writing utensils, paper, and hall passes are used on a daily basis as well!

    Currently, the students are working on a choreography project for their showcase at the end of the semester on January 24, 2020. Each class has chosen a dance theme, dance style, costume, and music selection and have been working diligently to perfect their dances! As we finalize their choreography, our next step in COSTUMES!! They have finalized their choices and our new project is "Performance Costumes" https://www.donorschoose.org/project/performance-costumes/4679490/. Every penny helps us meet our goal!”

The supplies that I am requesting will aid my students' education and productivity throughout the year. I provide my students with all supplies during class in order to keep the dance space open and free from any distractions. We use paper and writing utensils to record and document our work in class. The folders will give each student a sturdy place for them to use and store their work every day. Our collaborative work is often done using markers and chart paper. We build lists, charts, rubrics, and informational resources for use in class. I travel between rooms to teach and carry all visual aids for class with me. The poster bags will be incredibly helpful to transport students to work from class to class each day. By providing my students with fresh supplies for the new school year, it will relieve any financial burden and allow them to focus on their education. These resources will assist with the everyday work and flow in my dance classroom. I want my students to feel pride in the work they have accomplished and been able to track their progress throughout the year. With your help, I can make that possible!
