This book, "Looking for Alaska," will help to supplement my young adult literature course while it is in it's fledgling phase. In the class, we will read and discuss books related to gender, difference, identity, cultural diversity, race and class, dystopian society, friendship, coming of age, voice and silence, technology, and a range of other social and psychological themes. As a means for leading the discussions on those topics, the class needs more text selections. There is no budget to branch out beyond the limited selection I will have to begin the class. Your donation will be critical in providing the necessary literature for young adults needed to facilitate that process.
