My student athletes have big dreams and hopes of making them all real. Our wrestling team is young but growing within this small community school sandwiched between two tough neighborhoods in South Baltimore. My students learn through wrestling how to self advocate, goal set, respect their opponents and most importantly, work hard! We do have heart, desire, and the opportunity to avoiding a life of crime, teenage pregnancy, and future unemployment. Academics and athletics are important parts of youth and my students are using both to get ready for life. Wrestling is the oldest sport in the world. There is something character revieling about throwing on a singlet and going head to head with somebody else on a mat in front of a crowd. Win or lose, my student athletes learn lessons that over time will develop a tenacity that no one will be able to take from them and a focus that they will offer the world. Thanks for !
