  • Saving Our Treasures

    Funded Sep 23, 2021

We were able to protect, saved and keep safe our items that we used throughout year with our organizers.

The students were grateful for having their bins to keep their items in, they shared with me that it helped them to know exactly where everything they are using should be as well as where they could find them.

It kept the class organized as well and things weren't out of place with persons uncertain where their items were, which were situations which used to be a challenge in my previous classes years gone be.

    Thank you again.”

  • Small Group + Organized Centers= Exciting Mathematicians

    Funded Sep 4, 2021

My students started the new year with their organizers. They each one for themselves where they write their names on it and owned it. They placed the mathematics manipulatives that we used in each unit in their organizationer. They are always able to find the manipulatives whenever they need them and returned them to their organizer.

They had it for the year and was able to take them to their 3rd grade class. Having the organizer kept them organized and I feel developed the sense of responsibility because they had to give an account for their items.

The manipulatives were crucial to them learning throughout the year and I am thankful for everyone who gave.”

  • Keeping Our Classroom Air Purified

    Funded Jul 17, 2021

I am beyond grateful for what you did in ensuring we had a safe class. My students were very curious about it and wanted to know what it would be used for. We went through the use of the Humidifier and how it can help to keep us safe.

Throughout the year, I had students who were willing to turn it on and off or to just remind me to turn it on at the day.

They were happy for the Humidifier, they thought the donors were kind to give them something so useful and efficient at the time when we started class.

I am especially grateful because I will have it to use with other classes.

There are not enough words to express my gratitude.”

  • New Generation Mathematicians

    Funded Dec 25, 2020

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

I cannot say, thank you enough. When teaching graph, I didn't have to photocopy paper. I had the graph sheets that they used to write and draw on. They marked on and wipe off the graph boards. They had the resources to use that helped them to understand better what they are doing.

When we began measurement, they used their rulers and could mark on it then wipe off as they went on to measure something else. Without these resources, the lessons wouldn't have been as engaging and fun as they have been.

The regrouping packet is amazing, regrouping is a challenge and seeing how it actually work by exchanging the numbers have helped my kids a lot. I appreciate you Donors.”

  • Always Connected During Virtual Learning!

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

The students needed to practice their Math Fluency and the Addition Machine was utilized by them fully to help in that aspect.

When teaching Place Value the Magnetic Place Value chart presented a wonderful visual that they needed and I absolutely appreciated receiving such a resource to use in my class that brought the lesson alive.

The students used the snap on to help them when we were doing addition problems that had either an number missing. It was especially helpful to those students who needed the hands on help to add or take away. This was a necessary tool to have.

I am grateful for your donations and at the end of the year where I can actually see how the use of these resources have contributed to their learning.

I am absolutely loss for words and cannot say how much I am grateful to you my Donors,.”

  • Laminate to Ensure Durability

    Funded Sep 24, 2020

I really wanted to be able to show pictures of the students' work. We took a while to go in the building but with care and much precaution. We are in the building and using the resources.

We did not get the laminating machine as I had wanted. However, we got resources to aid them in their handwriting, punctuation and capitalization and story development. I must say that in the end I am happy that those are the resources that I got.

When teaching the students how to use the writing folder along with the ruled paper. One of my students asked me how is it that they have all these resources. That was an opening for me to tell them about Donors who through an organization named DonorsChoose contribute money to Projects I create, they were very impressed.

One of my students said that, he liked the ruled sheet because it helped him to be able to write his letter better. I must concur with his statement; since, he has been using the sheets to write, his handwriting has greatly improved.

The Writing Folder is a great help, it helps with organizing their writing, from the pre-writing to the publishing stage. We are working on Opinion Writing and the writing book, I got in the packet has provided them with the practice they need. Daily Journal Writing aides in developing their punctuating and capitalization skills.

I couldn't have been able to achieve what I have so far without you, my gracious Donors. Class 205 is extremely grateful.”

    Ms. Barrett

  • From a Number Line to a Clock

    Funded Sep 3, 2020

The biggest challenge to getting my photos earlier was that my students were not in school as yet for them to use them. However, I finally got the chance to give them to the students.

They are totally taken with the use of the clock with the option of removing the hour numbers and minute lines to be able to read the clock in that manner. They use their whiteboard marker to write the time. One student said he loved it because he can remove the numbers and its the first he has ever seen a clock like that.

I find using the clock as a number line really helpful to them due to the fact that they are familiar with the use and format of a number line. With continued use I have no doubt that they will master the concept of telling time on the hour as well as in the interval.

Thank you for your kind generosity, because of you there is a group of students who are able to learn and master the telling of time using an incredible resource.”

    With gratitude,

Virtual Learning is already handset and does not provide that hands-on connectivity that learning requires. To rectify this situation and to illuminate learning by making it come alive; a document camera is needed. The use of a document camera is a great way to help my students feel as if they're learning in the room with me. This facility would afford me the opportunity and freedom to use real-world documents, live, with their students. For example: counting coins, using a geoboard or annotating a work by my students are all incredible activities that could enhance my students' learning.
