• Fueling Minds for State Testing

• Snacks to Start 2024 Off Right!

  Snack projects are always some of my favorites because they truly bring the most joy! I took out all the snacks that you all contributed and lined them up on the desks for my students to see. I don't know if I have every seen them as excited as they were that day! :)

  I am so thankful to have such a supportive community behind me. These are the things that make teaching so joyous!

  This project has made it possible for dozens of kids to grab something when they forgot breakfast or if they didn't like the school lunch. It has made all the difference in their mood and ability to focus on math. During SOL season, which is admittedly stressful; I was able to give every kid a snack after they took their test! These things might seem small, but they make the day of so many children. Thank you for allowing me the privilege of creating bonds and relationships with students through this effort!”

• Starting the Year Off Right!

  This project has really transformed the classroom and started the year off on such a positive note. Obviously things like pencils and lysol wipes make a lot of difference when we are trying to run a middle school classroom. The biggest thing that has transformed my classroom is the scoreboard. I am using as a classroom incentive system. We have "house points" and I am able to add and subtract points from the scoreboard for students to see. It has really made students aware of behaviors we want to see and behaviors we don't want to see.

  It seems like such a small things, but it has really helped the management of the room. The bins and shelving unit is so useful for storing classroom items and I really can't thank you enough for your support of my classroom.

  I rely so much on people like you to transform my classroom into a space that children want to learn. Thank you for making that possible! You are awesome!”

• Middle School Snacks Are Essential!

  Our middle school students are really dealing with so much, for such young minds. They are holding the weight of the world on their shoulders and food insecurity continues to be an issue amongst our population of students. This project has impacted our students ability to focus and for us to meet a basic need for so many kids. Thank you endlessly for your support in this effort! It takes a village and I'm thankful to have you as a part of mine! This has been such an amazing opportunity for me to connect with students who are reluctant to open up. You just don't know how much these small little gestures make a difference for kids.”

• Middle School Snack Cart

  I'm not sure if there is a more dynamic and classroom altering project than one that provides food for students. There have been so many times when something as simple as gummies or a bag of chips has completely changed a child's day!

  Just today, I had a student in crisis who missed out on lunch. I was able to provide him with an entire lunch from my cart! Your generosity is really making a difference in the lives of these middle schoolers!

• An Apple a Day

  This has been the most transformative tool for my space! I've been able to use it for so many different aspects of my classroom. My students use it when they forget their chrome book, I use it to plan and write lesson plans. I've also been using it to give feedback to students on google classroom. It has made my accessibility to students so much better.

  The best part has been my ability to stay near students and still show examples to the whole class. It's connected to my smart board and I'm able to teach from anywhere. This iPad has given me the greatest gift a teacher could ask for; the ability to be everywhere and still meet students' needs! Thank you one hundred times over for your help with this awesome project! I owe you so many thanks! Your contribution means everything!”

• Getting and Staying Organized

  This has been very impactful. A project that might seem like a small one has been so helpful. This has been so nice for the organziational aspect of my room. My students have been able to have a space to store their books as well as a place to put all of their math notes and it has led to so much autonomy in the classroom, which is great!

  This has been very impactful. A project that might seem like a small one has been so helpful. Middle school kids will do anything for a starburst and that has been transformational in behaviors. I have also begun a ticket system that has dramatically changed the behavior of all of my classes.

• Middle School Fuel

  I think my students would agree that this has been their favorite addition to the classroom and it has truly been so impactful. I don't think I have ever seen a more motivated middle school classroom than when Takis are on the line :)

  On a more serious note, this has allowed me to bond with some of my more reserved or challenging students. Food is such a soul connect and it has been that in my classroom all year so far. I have a particular student who is ALWAYS in trouble and she often sleeps through class. One day I just asked her, what do you need? Tell me how I can support you. Not with math, but just with life. She said, "I'm just hungry." I gave her a poptart, and slid her a little snack for later on the side. She literally did all of her work that day and was focused.

• Classroom Basics for Middle School Classroom

  This is the kind of project that makes such a difference. These are essential items that we FLY through during the year. Having three classes with almost 90 students, we go through A LOT of pencils. I think the record of pencils in one day is 45. Given the season, we are also going through so many tissues. These may seem like trivial things, but they make all the difference and keep the classroom a functional, safe environment.

  I am so glad to have supportive donors like you to show my classroom love and help fund basic supplies for my classroom. We don't often get supplies in middle school from students, so this is a HUGE help in secondary classrooms. You are awesome and I can't thank you enough for your support!”
