Our students are all Special Education students participating in the Gifted Enrichment Program. They come to us from several schools around the district for one day each week. We have the joy and freedom of developing our own curriculum of specialized units that allow our students to become fully immersed in the topics they are studying. Students show great leadership potential and we use our units to help them to study gited people and processes so that they can develop and practice their own leadership skills in a safe and comfortable setting with like-minded peers. We deal with social issues such as overachieving and perfectionism, underachievement and boredom in the regular classroom, helping students to find their voices, promoting self-confidence and self-awareness, diligence, perseverence and task-commitment. Our students have the greatest potential for success, and yet, without the resources we offer, our students are also at great risk of "slipping through the cracks".
