  • 25 Ukraine Orphans to Draw Their Portraits This Holiday Season

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you for funding 100 Ukraine orphan photos so students at this title one school can draw their pictures in Google drawing, have them printed on good quality printing paper and then color with color pencils or watercolor paints. My students are now learning about the country and drawing them in Google drawing. They are due to The Memory Project in January and we might get them done on time. Usually we are couple of weeks late and they plan on that really when they give the due dates to send the drawings. Thank you for your support of art being used to help orphans suffering in war torn Ukraine. It's a very meaningful project to participate in for me and my students and then the orphans who finally get their portraits.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Baldauf

  • Drawings Turned Into Decals Applied to Clay Trivets & Fired!

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

Thank you for funding decal paper and printing toner for HP small printer I bought for students to make decals they can put on ceramic cups and tiles for holiday presents. Students have 8 days left to finish this project and get them back to give friends and family. Thank you so much for helping fund this project so students at this title one will be able to make presents they made with their art and technology. We might have to extend this project for some students to finish when they come back in January. Maybe making this a mothers day project as well now that we have enough decal paper and toner. Thank you for your support of art and technology and CREATIVITY. Thinking outside the box is education at it's best that you supported.”

  • Crackers & Juice to Eat on Tiles Made by Students!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thanks to your generosity all the students in my art class will have a small treat this year before going off to winter vacation. My 6 classes of 150 students will each have crackers and apple juice in a small celebration the last day of school. They are all designing their decals from their drawings to put on their cups or tiles for presents made by them. Thank you for this small gift to each student. It means a lot to them. The drawings they are making that will be printed into decals (the paper and ink was bought with this grant) are plates of food drawings and holiday sneakers. Thank you so much.”

  • Learning 3D Modeling with Colorful Printed Objects!!

    Funded Nov 7, 2022

Thank you for your support of technology in the art room with 3D printing and students learning 3D modeling skills on their Chromebooks. It has been wonderful to have these metallic, rainbow colors to print their projects they designed in Tinkercad on their Chromebooks. They have been learning how to find pictures on the internet and convert them to SVG files that they can import and use with their 3D models.

The results are beautiful, shiny, metallic and just what students chose for their projects.

Thank you for your help and kindness.”

  • Using/Learning Technology With Digital Drawings for Ukraine Orphans!

    Funded Oct 22, 2022

Thank you for supporting my students drawing on the computers orphan portraits for children in Ukraine with The Memory Project. This will be a learning experience for my students and a gift for the children in Ukraine who have lost so much this year. So important they know the world is still here for them and children from other countries are drawing their portraits.

The good quality printing paper, plastic sleeves and the fee for participating in this world/community service project is so much appreciated. This school would not be able to participate otherwise and use technology as well.

Thank you again for helping my kids and the kids in Ukraine.”

  • Learning about Prehistoric Art by Painting Rocks!

    Funded Sep 17, 2022

Thank you for funding the flat, smooth rocks we ordered so students can paint them and learn about prehistoric art painting. Making something in art that they can keep and share with their family is important to them and makes art meaningful for the student and their family who they share their art rock paintings they made in art class.

The rocks turned out beautiful and were shellacked so they will not be ruined when it rains on them. Thank you for your support of this project that this title one school would not have been able to do without Donor Choose funding and the community that funds these projects. Thank you again.”

  • Portraits on Puzzles for Ukraine Orphans!

    Funded Sep 13, 2022

Thank you for supporting drawing orphans from Ukraine by my students. Now they will be able to draw on the blank puzzles to send to Ukraine for the children to take apart and put together. The puzzles will have hand drawn portraits on one side and kind words of kindness on the other side created by my students.

I'm very much looking forward to working with my students in this kindness project for them to make and give with their art.

Thank you for making this possible now that I have 120 black puzzles to give to my students to draw on.

We will start this project in November, a time to be thankful and a time for giving.

Thank you for your help and kindness so this project can be realized.”

I see 150 students a day, ages 11-14; boys & girls. Students are in the school uniform of white top and dark bottoms every day. Most students are clean, young, eager & happy. In return I feel I want to keep that purity and innocence and give them a strong art program with fun, exciting projects. I mix in math ; English, history with the art so they are becoming stronger creative thinkers with technology while learning some core subjects. They are "teenagers" and emotional. They are in the in between child and young adult. They are very impressionable and with most of my students working n clay, using watercolors, drawing on cloth, using iPads, using oil pastels; it's their first experience and they are really excited to try. Some come from not ideal home situations, some students are homeless, live in group homes, live with relatives and school is the one constant for them. At school they are all equals.
