  • Less Mess Painting

    Funded Mar 20, 2022

So incredibly thankful for your donation to my classroom!! Your generosity will help my students to succeed in their painting experiences.

There is very little mess when using these paints. The clean-up process is quick and easy allowing the students more time to work on their projects.

Many thanks from me and the students at the Walter Francis Bishop Magnet School of the Arts.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Reill

  • Easy Art Room Clean Up

    Funded Sep 18, 2021

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! Your contribution to our art room clean up request has truly made a difference in my classroom.

At the beginning of the school year, I usually request that each child bring in 2-3 packs of baby wipes which we use all year to clean our hands and tables. This may not seem like a big ask, however our school community is located in a lower-income neighborhood that was hit very hard by the pandemic. Many of our families lost income during this time and are struggling financially. I did not want to add any additional financial burden or have students feel uncomfortable if they could not bring in baby wipes. I turned to donors choose to help finance the baby wipes. They are such an incredible help for clean-up.

For any given class I usually have between 25-30 students with no time between classes. If class is over at 9:00am, the next class is at the door at 9:00am. There is only one sink in the room which makes it impossible to get everyone cleaned up in time for dismissal. The baby wipes allow us to clean hands and tables in less than two minutes so we are not wasting our precious instructional and studio time. I truly am grateful for your gift to my art room.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Reill

One teacher, one sink, and anywhere from 12 to 34 students at a time make art class clean-up very difficult. After 30 years of teaching, I have made clean-up much easier with the use of baby wipes. At the. end of class, each student is given a baby wipe to clean their hands and then clean their space with sanitizer. 3/4 of our students are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch, and I do not want to add additional financial burden to families that already are struggling from the pandemic.
