Closing Phonics Learning Gaps in schools physically & virtually
Funded Jan 8, 2021Thank you so much for your contribution to the students at Phillis Wheatley Elementary.
Your donation has assisted us in creating take-home packets for our online students as well as our in-person students. Students are able to refer to their own resources without having to share with one another which eliminates cross contamination during the world-wide pandemic. Resources are more accessible for students and we are forever grateful for your donation. Thank you so much again for funding our project.”

Funded Oct 17, 2018Thank you so much. You donation has made a major impact in our small groups for L25/L35 students. Students are able to access additional time of iReady when they are pulled out of class in order to meet their individual needs assignments. The students were and are still excited about using the cromebooks when they are pulled out of class for small groups once the spring semester begins. Teachers in grades 2nd-5th currently use the cromebooks during their Teacher-Led Center to provide remediation videos for instruction and students also play interactive phonics activities in small group for practice. We appreciate all your support.”

Funded Oct 17, 2016Thank you so much for donating all these wonderful supplies to our classroom. It has tremendously made a significant impact to the students reading and working towards reading proficiency. Students are using the read-along novels during the enrichment center to aide them in understanding/identifying new vocabulary in the enrichment center while answering FSA standardized questions. Students who are on approaching level use the single-book read-along in order to gain vocabulary as well as concept of word meanings. Students are excited to use the CD players to listen to the stories as they complete their work silently while in groups. My approaching level groups are extremely excited with this new source of technology in the classroom because they are able to listen along with tracking the new words as they move through stories to effectively answer comprehension questions. Thank you so much for providing my students with this additional resource that is truly beneficial to them successfully growing to be proficient in reading at the 3rd grade level.”

P.U.S.H. Reading Technology Center
Funded Oct 20, 2015Thanks to your generous donation to my classroom my students are to use the tablets to log on to the reading program we are using called iReady. Students are able to work on iReady skills that will help them to build to their current reading grade level so, that they successfully reach their current reading grade level by the end of the school year.
My students were excited to use tablets to access iReady during the reading block. The tablets also served as an additional resource during social science when conducting research and projects. Students were able to access the classroom computers as well as tablets to locate information. By having the additional technology in my classroom that was reliable students were able to successfully complete differentiated instruction daily on the tablets that were provided to our classroom.
Majority of my have become experts at accessing the tablet because they are familiar other types of tablets. My students especially like the amazon kindle fire tablets because they are accessible and they can move to their seats and work independently on their assignments.”
