  • Art Is For Everyone

    Funded Apr 2, 2024

I truly believe that art is a universal language and that everyone, even children deserve access to it. I also believe that art in preschool should be an experience, should be messy and should be something that every child gets to experience.

The foam paint and the tape were definitely the most popular new addition to our classroom. The finger paint paper was popular with the staff, it is more durable than lots of other papers.

All of my students, regardless of needs or disabilities, were able to explore different types of art supplies and create various types of master pieces. Thank you for supporting my classroom, we appreciate it.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hofer

  • Music Makes the World a Better Place

    Funded Mar 23, 2024

I want to convey my sincere appreciation for your support on this project. These little MP3 players have been a valuable tool in my classroom, and they will continue to benefit many students. My team and I had been using our cell phones to play music for students. While that did work and was successful we were looking for a more appropriate way to meet our students needs.

The MP3 players are more durable, can be handled by kids and only have the music we upload on them. Overall, they provide a safer and more appropriate way for students to access the music they need during class. Thank you again, for supporting my students, now and into the future.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hofer

  • AAC Communication All Day Long

    Funded Sep 19, 2023

The very first thing we used was the power banks. These have made it possible for students to continue to have access to their devices even when they need to be charged. This has been very exciting for all of us.

The luggage tags have been critical in helping students take ownership and possession of their devices. We put both the student's name and their photos on the tags so all students can look at them and identify whose device it is.

The shelves and the bags have also been a wonderful tool to keep devices safe and accessible in the excitement of preschool.

Thank you again for all your support. We all appreciate it more than you know.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hofer

  • Play to Learn

    Funded May 22, 2023

We cannot thank you enough for your support. These new materials have already been a great support for our classroom. The color, shape, and number puzzles are not only a boost to our pre-academic supports but also providing students with exposure to new and various vocabulary. For example, some students are focusing on just the color words, some are focused on the new vocabulary (bike), some are combining words (blue bike) and some students are creating simple sentences (I see blue bike).

The counting cans have also been a great addition to our dramatic play, on top of being a pre-academic support. Students are able to play with the food, and talk about their likes and dislikes and quantities.

These materials have provided a boost in everyone's excitement and we finding a variety of ways to use all of them. Thank you again for all of your support, we sincerely appreciate it.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hofer

  • Technology to Learn

    Funded Sep 4, 2022

The games on the HelpKidzLearn site provide opportunities for all my students to learn and grow. There are simple cause-and-effect games that help to engage my earliest learners and build their attention and focus skills.

We have loved how students practice turn-taking while playing these games. Two students even spontaneously wanted to play and take turns with the balloon-popping game. We see how shared enjoyment and turn-taking are helping to build these early friendships.

Once again, thank you for your support. Your support helps my students more than you know. They are learning and growing and this new technology is helping us support them.”

  • Books for Our Happy Campers Book Tree

    Funded Nov 15, 2021

I don't know how to express to you how much I appreciate your support with this project. The book tree is not only a functional bookshelf but it adds to the welcoming and calming classroom atmosphere I am creating. Students enjoy sitting on comfy chairs in front of the tree and reading our new board books.

The books, the second part of this project, are amazing. They are engaging and board books are extra durable. The collection of books we received covers various topics, and there is something for each of my students.

I just want to say thank you again to each of you for helping to support my classroom, my students, and me.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hofer

  • Help Us Learn To Communicate

    Funded Jun 3, 2021

The communication books you helped to fund will benefit not only my current students but also my students for years to come. Communication is a foundational skill that will empower my students to advocate, request, and comment and simply to be active participants in their lives.

The ability to effectively communicate wants and needs can be a huge turning point for students who have not felt heard before. I cannot describe the joy of seeing students take control of their lives and feel empowered simply by asking for the things they want. Sometimes they want tangible things like a specific snack or a favorite toy but they are also learning the power of communicating with others.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hofer

  • Distance Learning Supplies

    Funded Dec 31, 2020

Thank you for helping me to take our distance learning activities to a whole new level. We have already seen increased engagement and participation with some of our new materials. Students are participating in activities that they think are fun. We are able to help them, through the computer, to practice language skills, play skills, fine motor skills and social skills.

The used the tongs to pick up blocks and drop them into a container. We have used are watercolors to explore and for some early science and color mixing. We have used the people to practice building play skills and expanding play skills.

We all want to say thank you.”

  • Books, Books, Books

    Funded Dec 2, 2020

I want to sincerely thank you for helping me to share my love of books with my students and their families. It is exciting to have classics, books I remember as a kid and books I am excited to share with students and families.

I am also excited about the bilingual books to help support my students who are learning English as a second language. All students need to see themselves, their culture and their language in our literacy experiences. These bilingual books will help me support my students.”

  • So Much More Than Just a Circle!

    Funded Sep 8, 2020

We are using our new circle time easel during distance learning. The magnetic board allows me to post a First-Then visual to help my students understand what we are doing and what is coming next. This helps students to know what is expected of them and helps them to remain regulated and calm.

The circle time easel also has green felt which is letting me begin to use some exciting and engaging green screen activities. Students are enjoying these new activities and I am already seeing increased engagement and participation.

Thank you again for your support during this time.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Hofer

These materials will help me to make sure that my students are getting the most out of our circle time activities. The CENTER NEW ROYAL READING WRITING EASEL will ensure that materials and visuals are centrally located and available during instruction. Having materials and visuals in one place helps students to focus their attention and increases engagement. Rhythm Sticks and Beanbags will capitalize on students' interests which in turn increases engagement and participation. They also are used to teach many skills including self-control, listening, following directions, imitation and much more. Circle time is an opportunity to teach foundational skills that students will carry with them throughout their lives and have some messy, noisy, preschool fun!
