Give Us Books to Grow On
Funded Mar 6, 2020Thank you so much for your kindness and support. Just the the other day my students were asking about new books and that they have read all the ones that interested them. I was getting so sad to have nothing new to show them. This project came in at a great time. I can’t wait to show them all new books for them to read and share.”

Funded Jan 10, 2019I can not thank you enough for our books and stem sets. The kids love to read the series books. We have written our own series books this year and the students were able to see how a real author can use the same characters but have them go on different adventures. They loved to see how the first book introduce the character and the rest of the books continue the adventures. They read the books in book clubs. This was their first book club experience, they learned to talk about the books and discuss what they learn as a group. They also help each other with different reading strategies to figure out new words.
My students have be working on both independent, partner and book club reading. The students have a chance to experience many different kinds of reading experiences. This year being expose to the book club model was a rough in the beginning but the students are starting to enjoy it. The partner reading is interesting to watch the groups communicate about books and learn how to help each other in a supportive way.
The stem projects have being great as well. The students love the idea of trying to figure out the how to build the chairs for the different bears. They are learning to test out different ideas . The Create a Chain sets are a bit challenging for them but together the students are worked on different ways to create the chain and have it work right. After the group solves a chain, they have to work on being able to explain what pieces they used and how it worked.
Again I thank you so much for helping my class to gain new resources and new opportunities. My students love all the books but their favorite series was Amelia Bedelia.”

Funded Dec 25, 2018Give them something to touch, something to build,
I am so grateful for this 3D printer for my students. It will give them a chance to see that they create the next greatest thing and THEY can bring it to life. It will be so exciting to see if the students could solve real world problems by designing something, sending it to the printer and watching it form right before their eyes. It will interesting to how touching the item they designed will gets their wheels turning and understand how things work. They can learn to refine their ideas to create things that can solve a problem or meet a need in the world around them. I can't wait to send the picture of the items my students are going to create.”
