  • Bit by Micro:Bit

    Funded Dec 2, 2020

This academic year was especially tough. The global pandemic introduced situations that made it difficult for students to have interactive, hands-on, minds-on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) experiences. Virtual learning meant students were away from campus, and thus away from many of the resources used to enrich learning.

Your generosity changed this! The trajectory of our students' academic year was changed in a positive way as a direct result of your donation! I was able to send Micro:Bit version 2 microcontrollers to all students. Having the Micro:Bit in hand unleashed the power of curiosity and innovation for our students.

Along with utilizing the Micro:Bits to examine and measure scientific phenomena in the world around them, students were also inspired to create innovative solutions to problems related to the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)! Students produced prototypes designed to solve such problems as keeping sea animals safe, tracking one's personal fitness, locating safe shelter, and more!

Thank you for helping our students!”

  • Help Make Remote Learning Fun!

    Funded Aug 10, 2020

Joy has been precious in this trying time. Thank you for helping me to provide educational resources for my students that are not only effective but elicit joyous responses from my virtual learners! The upbeat music-based Flocabulary lessons and activities have been a bright spot in the week for my students. I have also been able to find engaging and exciting resources from Teachers Pay Teachers with the Gift Card that was generously funded.

Thank you for bringing joy to my students during a global pandemic!”

  • Neat Notes with Nearpod

    Funded Aug 29, 2020

Thank you so much for the Nearpod Platinum Annual Teacher License! We are truly teaching in unprecedented times and maximizing "screen real estate" has proven to be key to students having a positive virtual learning experience. The ability to take digital notes with Nearpod Platinum has helped our students tremendously in this regard. Students are able to easily participate in the interactive Nearpod lessons and take notes without clicking back and forth between applications!

Thank you for supporting teachers and students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Your generosity is truly appreciated.”

    Ms. Zeno

  • We're Rolling, We're Rolling, We're Picking Up STEAM!

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

Thank you so much for this generous donation. My students were truly excited to receive the materials and were looking forward to many fun, hands-on activities with our new robot friends! Our plans were in place and we were ready to have an amazing Sphero learning adventure! We were, however, interrupted by COVID-19.

We have been working virtually since last year, but we do look forward to using these materials when hands-on activities have been deemed safe by our school district. Thank you again for your generous donation.”

  • Senior Send Off

    Funded Jun 6, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous contributions to our senior class of 2020. These students were born during tumultuous times (9/11) and have now graduated during a pandemic. As this class was not able to have a traditional graduation due to COVID-19, your generous contributions brought them great joy as they received their diplomas via drive up. Supplying them with weighted blankets will provide much-needed comfort in this trying time. The students will make great use of their stainless steel tumblers as they prepare for their next journey. Thank you for helping us to #GraduateTogether!”

  • STEM to the Rescue!

    Funded Jul 27, 2019

Thank you so much for helping my students to see themselves in STEM Careers. The hands-on, minds-on activities provided by your generous donation have enabled my students to better understand the roles that STEM professionals play in our daily lives. Students had the opportunity to envision themselves as professionals to stop a pandemic. These amazing materials allowed students to act as STEM professionals to create a quarantine box to contain an outbreak. They then went on to "shrink" down to the size of a virus and act out the mechanism of a virus attacking a cell! The other fabulous activities ranged from students simulating a virus mutation to creating a public service announcement to mitigate the spread of disease.

All in all, STEM truly did come to the rescue thanks to your help! Thank you for helping my students to grow!”

  • Prepping for Success

    Funded Nov 10, 2018

This donation has helped students in a myriad of ways. Through Albert.io, students are able to review everything algebraic equations to balancing chemical equations to Romeo and Juliet! This resource has done a great deal to help students feel more confident before taking college entrance and Advanced Placement (AP) exams. Our students had an abbreviated academic year last year due to Hurricane Harvey, and Albert.io has helped immensely by giving them a platform to practice and review concepts from the previous academic year.

Access to Albert.io's high-quality tutorials has helped to truly prepare our students for collegiate success. As our students prepare for End of Course and high stakes district and state and college entrance exams, your donation has helped to build our students' confidence and knowledge base - an amazing combination that will surely lead to future successes!

    THANK YOU!”

  • "Ryze" to New Heights with Programmable Drones

    Funded Nov 18, 2018

Thank you so much for your generosity. With this generous donation of drones, you have given my students access to the future. My students are thrilled to have the opportunity to learn and practice computational thinking and programming through physical computing. They have enjoyed designing and implementing drone missions to take "Dronies" (selfies with drones) and to maneuver through an obstacle course.

It has been a joy to see the students strengthen their algorithmic thinking as they program the drones. The drones are not only helpful in the development of the students' technical skills, but they are serving as outlets for the students to study cartography, illustrate points of view, create visual works of art/videos, and better understand macro/micro world views.”

  • Sprint to Greatness With Scrum

    Funded Aug 7, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation. My students have LOVED learning about Scrum and using their new materials to manage their projects. You have truly helped to bring my student's innovative computer science and robotics ideas to life!

Our students will truly enjoy using learning about agile management and how it can be used to improve their everyday classroom tasks. We are looking forward to completing our apps, designing new and innovative uses for robots and more with our new Agile tools. You are truly making a difference in the lives of our students!”

  • STEAM Powered Genius

    Funded Nov 16, 2015

Sometimes, it takes time for good intentions to come to fruition. Such is the case with our STEAM Powered Genius project.

Unfortunately, we have not been able to get our 3D printer up and running and will have to send it back to the manufacturer. We are still looking forward to bringing our CAD creations to life, but we will have to exercise a bit of patience as we await the repair/replacement of our printer.

We would sincerely like to thank our donors for making our dreams closer to reality.”
