My students are special education students. Some of my kids are already full-time virtual, as others are in the classroom full time. The Scholastic magazines are threes areas of concern for my students. Reading, mathematics, and real-world applications are the things we hit on most in the classroom. Whether we are home or in the classroom, the scholastic magazines will be used to teach real-world skills. I am asking for print and online versions of the magazine so that they can be assessed easily from anywhere. They will be able to see how what they do in the classroom, will be used in they are out in the real world. I will use the Teacher pay Teacher gift cards to purchase other assignments and projects that will also help our kids.
With my students being special education students, some of my students will not attend college after graduation, so by teaching them real-life skills, they are better prepared for the real world.
The earbuds are for them to use in the classroom to remove some of the extra noise. Several regular education teachers assign Edpuzzle videos. These videos cover math, science, language, or social study topics that they covered in class. They listen and watch the videos, then answer questions throughout it. The earbuds will allow them to listen at their own pace and be undisturbed.
