  • Playground Furniture

    Funded Oct 7, 2022

Thank you donors for your generosity. I have seen such a huge difference in the way our students have been playing in our playground. The furniture has truly helped them rest, read, draw, and color with one another. The table and chair is stable, beautiful, and goes with the environment. The round seating area, is comfortable, and the pillows make it more special. I love seeing the children use the outdoor space in such an intentional way with their friends. It has limited a lot of running, and more focused activities of being together.”

  • We NEED Chairs and MORE Chairs

    Funded Aug 19, 2022

Receiving these chairs for our toddlers has made a tremendous impact in our classroom. If you can see the pictures, the students are able to sit comfortable for eating, playing, and sharing. They color of the chairs also create an inviting environment that encourages children to sit in a comfortable space to play and learn. Going on three years now with changes due to Covid, this change made a huge difference in our classroom space. It shows how much respect and love I (and so many others) have for these children. Their classroom belongs to them, and with the right materials, we were able to transform a space for children to feel safe and nurturing, instead of changing themselves to fit an environment that wasn't working for them. Thank you away.”

  • Shade Our Outdoors

    Funded Jun 10, 2022

I am over the moon that this project got funded. The heat has been so difficult for our students, and these shades have made a huge impact in their playtime outside. The heat is not directly on their bodies, they are able to move and play around the playground with ease, and enjoy the warmth of summer in a cool and comfortable way. It has also enhanced our playground because the triangle shapes are cool and interesting, shading the ground, and changing directions at each hour.

I want to thank you all again or supporting our classroom.”

  • Watch Out Kindergarten, Here We Come

    Funded May 4, 2022

Thank you so much for your donations. Wow, did it make the culmination of our students 100x's better. This was our first in-person culmination since returning back from a pandemic. The children and their families were so excited for this amazing opportunity. Thank you for always supporting our program. It was moving to see their faces light up, take pictures, and receive gifts for one another. I am so proud to be a part of that experience and all the families and individuals who kindly gave to our school.”

  • "We Are Leaders" Affirmation T-Shirts for Preschoolers

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

Thank you so much for your donations. It has helped our school community in such positive ways. I am so thankful for these t-shirts because all of the students wear them proudly each week. I have learned them say "I AM A LEADER" so many times. It is extremely exciting to see how happy they truly are. I love that they feel confident in their shirts, and spread the awesome qualities of our program. When new children come to our site, we give them these shirts to help them welcome to our school community. Again I thank you all.”

  • Art Materials for Exploration

    Funded Jun 29, 2020

The pandemic hit hard for our families, however, the resources and materials we received from your generosity helped ease some of the struggles our families faced. I was able to mail out the art materials to many of my students who were able to use them during our Zoom sessions. It was a joy watching them create beautiful works of art with their families, describe their creations, and connect with their peers while on zoom. This would not have been possible for the kindness of strangers, loved ones, friends, and community partners. Thank you for all my heart.”

  • A Resting Place for Preschoolers

    Funded Dec 12, 2019

The beds the children were sleeping in before in bad condition. Some of the screws were falling out. The beds must of been over 10 years old. My team and I decided to write this grant. We were ecstatic of the wonderful people that donated. Our parents were happy and too shared with their family to donate. Many people from out of state donated and we received and an anonymous donor who gave us the biggest donation that funded the beds.

The new beds the children are a bit lower and the beds are in great condition. I feel the children rest a lot better. The children are spread out the room with enough personal space during rest time. In the storage closest is has been space saver. With the old beds we had to closest to store beds now we just have one. We utilize that extra space to store materials that need to be out of children's reach.

The children were so excited that they received these beds. Some of the children jumped on the beds. We had to talk to the children about safety rules but it was great to see them excited. We thank the donors so much for their generosity.”

  • Photography and Printing With Preschoolers

    Funded Dec 31, 2019

This project has given my students the opportunity to learn about photographs and how they are taken. I also use the camera to take pictures of the students and use them as documentation as they reach their developmental levels. It has been wonderful watching them use "old school" technology such as a real camera to take a picture, rather then seeing their families use their phones.

The students were so interested in seeing how the photographs were taken and how the picture ink worked to print out pictures. They were curious about how to click the button on the camera and to "see" the picture come up on the computer. They were amazed that the pictures taken were printed out and posted. It has been a great learning experience for our class. I want to thank you all for your donations.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Avila

My preschoolers love technology. This project will provide them the opportunity to learn how to take pictures, print out their work, and keep a portfolio of their projects. For my students taking digital pictures can be a way to share cool things that have happened during school hours. They will also learn to express their creativity of the wonderful natural experiences they have playing inside the classroom and in the playground. Photography will help develop their voice, vision, and identity as it pertains to their family, friends, and community. Taking photos will also help my students visualize the same thing in different ways. As the children upload the pictures, they will learn to print and post their work in the classroom. The ink used for the project will be used by all the children as they work on the classroom computer and printer. The children will see the difference between black ink in comparison to the glossy photographs that are kept around the classroom. They will also learn taking pictures with a camera can be moved from one device to the next. They will use the portfolios as documentation of the images to look through and present to families after each study is completed in the school year. These materials will also help my students learn new vocabulary words such as a keyboard, printer, ink, printing paper, camera, and portfolio. My students will also learn how to collaborate, take turns, and work together. I will demonstrate how to use the camera, where the ink comes from and how to take care of what they have printed by using the portfolios.
