  • Autism Classroom Fine Motor and Academic Centers

    Funded Oct 30, 2018

On behalf of my students, I want to thank you so much for your generous contributions!! These items have had such a positive impact in my students growth and progress and seems to surley add to their growth in generalization. These materials are not only educational but also fun! Thanks for helping and making such a wonderful difference in our daily lives!"

Children with Autism require a variety of materials to ensure they are not only learning what they individually need but also that they are generalizing the skills they acquire. The supplies that we received helped to achieve academic goals such as different sentence and word building packages to work on their sentence structure and learning to spell words, play materials where they are learning imaginative play skills or showing their creative side by using stickers to create words and different pieces of artwork, several books in which they are learning to read either independently with their peers or by themselves and organizational materials that have helped to properly store everything.

Students with autism not only have a hard time acquiring skills but also generalizing the skills they've gained. Having students work on these different academic and fine motor centers throughout the day and rotate through each center, have helped with allowing for generalization of these skills, while also creating an atmosphere where learning can be fun. Thank you again everyone!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Coleman
