Can You Hear Me Now? Louder Than Childhood Obesity!
Funded Nov 3, 2014These headsets were truly a blessing to the efforts taken in revitalizing our Physical Education program. Attempting to yell above 90 plus voices in a vast environment where sound constantly bounces off walls proved to be both frustrating for the teachers as well as the students. Now with the hands free headsets, we are able to clearly give instructions and guide our students in their learning adventures.
As soon as students see us with our headsets on, they know we are ready to begin! During our exercises, we are able to join in with the students and explain each particular movement and its significance as we perform it together! Transition from one activity to the next has been so much smoother with students clearly understanding what is expected.
Being able to teach in an environment that is incredibly large and loud is extremely difficult especially if your audience cannot hear you. These headsets have definitely amplified our lessons and increased learning!”

Lady Tigers ROAR!
Funded Jul 3, 2014I want to thank you once again for supporting my girls. They were truly excited knowing that we are able to transport their equipment with ease as well as finally practice with enough softballs for all!
The softball equipment bags that were donated will make it easier to travel to our away games which usually involves public transportation and walking. By the time we actually got to the playing field, the girls were already tired from sharing the responsibility of carrying heavy bags. What a relief it will be to roll our equipment bags on wheels!
My girls are so excited to start this softball season with a BANG! It is because of people like you that give my girls the opportunity to shine and Dream Big!”

Got Gloves? - Lady Tigers Softball
Funded Jul 3, 2014One word, awesome! You have been such a key role in the development of the Lady Tigers. The girls have gained so much confidence from knowing that they are individuals who care about them and their success.
With the gloves donated, each girl was able to have her own glove which made them feel more like a softball player. We were able to visit colleges such as Pace and Fordham Universities to show them the skills gained from using our new gloves. Our frequent visits to colleges allows them to witness first hand how education and softball can build a successful young lady. All it took was a simple glove in hand to make my girls feel like they mattered. Thank you for that!
I hope that you continue to support my girls in the future.”

Catching Fire - Lady Tigers
Funded Jun 29, 2014I am so fortunate to be writing yet another thank you note to such generous and caring individuals. I cannot begin to put into words how much your help means to my girls.
The gloves donated has allowed every girl to have their own personal glove which has made running drills a lot easier. The girls have been able to grasp the mechanics of throwing and catching very quickly, increasing their self-esteem and confidence. The bats have allowed my girls to crush the ball during practice and games. Today's scrimmage against another middle school resulted in an 18 to 2 victory. This would not have been possible if it wasn't for the equipment donated to my girls who I consider like my adopted daughters.
Thank you once again and I hope you continue to support the Lady Tigers in the future!”

Protect Our Heads! - Lady Tigers Softball
Funded Jul 15, 2014Once again, I cannot put into words how much we are grateful for your generosity. The girls who I consider like my adopted daughters are very excited to be wearing their new helmets that not only protects their heads but also accommodates their long hair.
In today's scrimmage game against another middle school, our girls totally dominated the game by winning 18 to 2. Success is due to our awesome hitting and running the bases without worrying about the possibility of helmets falling off Girls were able to swing the bat freely knowing that their helmet stood firmly on their heads!
Thank you once again and I hope you continue to support the Lady Tigers!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Gates Foundation Back To School and 8 other donors.Swinging for Success - Lady Tigers
Funded Jun 29, 2014Once again, you have truly made a significant impact on my group of girls which I consider like my adopted daughters. They are more than excited to each have the opportunity to swing with a bat that best fits their size.
Your contribution has made it possible to have several hitting stations simultaneously where 24 girls have the opportunity to perfect their swing. This has significantly improved the rate in which our girls have learned the mechanics of the basic swing. In today's scrimmage game against another middle school, they dominated the game, crushing the ball at every turn. They eventually won the game with a score of 18 to 2. It was an amazing displaying of hitting which I give credit to the amazing bats donated to us.
Again, thank you so much and I hope to have your support in the future!”
