• 95 Storm Swinging For The Fences!

  Funded Nov 29, 2021

  This batting cage is AMAZING! This collapsible cage takes just mere minutes to open up and close. It does take a team effort to open the cage which also helps with solidifying our team bond. Girls were very eager to get into the cage and start swinging away!

  The Covid pandemic has crippled youth sports but we will persevere. I will not allow my student-athletes to give up on themselves. Therefore, I will do anything possible to supply my girls with the equipment that they need to become true champions on and off the field.

  While softball is about teaching these girls a new skill, my program is about saving lives. Thank you once again for supporting my girls.”

• 95 Storm Catcher's Gear

  Funded Dec 6, 2021

  Thank you once again for supporting my girls! Upon receiving the new catcher's gear, my starting catcher was in awe as she opened the box. She made sure she handled everything with extreme care as I reminded her that this gear will get dirty! Nonetheless, she wanted to keep it looking like new for as long as possible!

  This catcher's gear will definitely add to the team morale and give my starting catcher the confidence she needs for our upcoming Spring Season!

• 95 Storm Training Softballs

  The 95 Storm softball team has officially begun!! After weeks of anxiously waiting, the 95 Storm finally got the opportunity to begin their practices for the upcoming Spring Season.

  The 95 Storm players were excited to see NEW SOFTBALLS!! Like all hungry athletes, the first thing they did was smell the "newness" of the softballs and began throwing with a partner. These training softballs makes it easier for girls with less experience since they will build confidence without fearing that the softball might hit them causing severe injuries.

  The girls' softball team still needs your help. Because of the pandemic, many pieces of equipment were either lost, misplaced, or broken. Also, a lot of extra safety precautions were put in place to ensure that all student athletes remain as healthy as possible while engaging in softball.

• The Perfect Swing!

  Thank you once again to everyone on Donorschoose who helped make this project a reality! My girls were thrilled to use this new batting trainer as it helped correct their swing. It helped teach the proper mechanics of the swing, teaching proper eye position when swinging the bat which eliminated the possibility of learning bad habits. The multi-adjustable feature to teach the level swing, upward swing and downward swing, has directly benefited my girls since they vary in height.

  The 95 Storm will continue to train for our upcoming season which is rapidly approaching. We hope to be victorious on the field as well as in the classroom. Please continue to support girls in softball.”

• 95 Left-Hand Gloves

  As our season comes to an end, I reflect back on what made a difference this year. One major and crucial component to sustaining this program was Donorschoose and all the wonderful donors who support the 95 Storm.

  Left-hand athletes are always the last to receive proper equipment. This year, I had 4 left hand players who had to share one glove. Watching other girls practice while they had to wait wasn't conducive to learning how to perfect their skill. The left hand gloves definitely made a difference for my 3rd base girl whose arm is like a canon!

• 95 Storm Softball - Protecting Our Faces

  Funded Jan 14, 2019

  Thank you once again Donorschoose for supporting the 95 Storm girls!

  The face masks helped prevent further injuries and encouraged beginners to take risks. Girls wore them with pride on the field and felt confident in playing their positions. Our pitchers threw one strike after another!! One pitch was actually hit back towards one of my pitchers, almost hitting her in the face. Thankfully, she had the face mask on and was protected!!

  I don't think we could have done so well this year without those face masks. Thank you once again Donorschoose family for believing in my girls and this project!”
