  • Kindness and Effort is Prized!

    Funded Jan 1, 2023

Thank you for the generous and thoughtful donation to our scholars. They appreciate all the amazing prizes that they have earned, and will earn throughout this year.

Students are having a blast collecting erasers, mini Rubik's cubes, and more by working diligently. They are being kind to others and sharing their items, too. The cell phone erasers were a huge hit with the students, and they earned them for completing math goals this year.

The emoji keychains are proudly displayed on students backpacks and lunch pails because they earned them through effort, participation, and growth. They are so excited to show others how they have earned keychains and prizes by being kind and hard-working citizens.

Thank you for your donation, as students love having rewards for making good choices and doing their best. This creates more of a fun, exciting, and positive classroom environment.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sousa

  • Robotics Arci-Tech-ture

    Funded Aug 31, 2022

Thank you for the generous and thoughtful donation of Robotics tools and organizers. The students were so excited when the products arrived. The students were clapping and smiling as they opened the boxes of supplies. The organizers were put to use right away and now the students have an organized makerslab. The cart and boxes were a great help at their first competition, allowing them to feel more organized and prepared. Our future engineers love having the ability to find what they need right away.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sousa

  • Organized Supplies for All!

    Funded Mar 2, 2021

Thank you for your generous donation to our classroom. The students were so excited to see the shelves and cubbies. They walked into the classroom and were cheering and pointing at the new shelves and easy-to-see resources. Our scholars were easily able to grab their book and any supplies they needed while maintaining social distancing guidelines. With these cubbies, I hope to encourage sharing, organization, and philanthropy to each class. I can tell the organized and labeled cubbies will be used for many years to come.”

  • Interactive Digital Resources for Distance Learners

    Funded May 27, 2021

Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness. The scholars loved using technology in new ways to support instruction and show off their knowledge of key concepts. Students made digital portfolios, created art with math, and designed gorgeous projects online. They enjoyed collaborating and presenting their knowledge in a variety of ways as they built technology competency. One of their favorite activities was pixel art math. When the students answered math review questions a picture started to appear. Students would ask for more pixel art, resulting in increased student knowledge and understanding. Each assignment brought a new level of technology expertise and understanding of key concepts that scholars can use for years to come. Thank you so much for helping students achieve and collaborate, no matter the "distance."”

  • Digital Tools for Distance Learning

    Funded Oct 23, 2020

Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity toward our amazing classroom. The class was so surprised when they saw/heard about the huge green screen box! Our scholars cannot wait to create a fun green screen project this year. When the students saw the opened box full of goodies they kept saying how cool it was that they get to be like the people on TV. They were so excited, happy, and grateful. The students and families really appreciate the rocketbook notes, and how easy it is to see the great work. The supplies you donated will be enjoyed by students for many years to come!”

  • Learning is a Breath of Fresh Air!

    Funded Feb 4, 2020

Thank you for your generous contribution to our project "Learning is a Breath of Fresh Air." The students were so excited, and the purifiers were up and running the same day they arrived. The air purifiers are very helpful in the classroom, especially during dusty days and fire season. These items have helped to create a safe environment for my students to learn and grow.

Oh behalf of our scholars and myself, thank you for continued support and philanthropy. The purifiers will be used and appreciated by our class for years to come. Thank you!”

  • Positive Choices Are Treasured

    Funded Dec 11, 2019

The students were completely surprised and extremely exuberant when they opened the Amazon boxes with all of the amazing and generous prize box items. They could not wait to put the rewards in the box and start earning them. The students have shown increased effort and positive choices with this extra bit of encouragement. The students value every reward and flaunt their earned rewards at school. Every item is treasured and enjoyed by the students. Some scholars are even sharing their prizes with family and friends. Every kindness and positive choice is rewarded extrinsically and intrinsically in the classroom. The students and I are so grateful for donors like you who help make every day extra special in the classroom.”

  • Classroom Essentials for Wonderful Scholars

    Funded Oct 24, 2019

Thank you so much! Our students were so excited to see all the donations arrive. They were so happy to receive your wonderful and generous gifts. We are so appreciative, and we are enjoying the supplies daily.

The headphones were one of the student's favorite items, and they started using them right away! Pencils and erasers were on every student's desks the next day, and we could not wait to use the supplies on holiday crafts and activities. The students were jumping up and down when they heard they could take the new supplies home.

Our students are very grateful, and wanted to make sure I let you know how much your generosity means to them. Your kindness and philanthropy is appreciated by so many, and has sparked the joy of philanthropy in the students. Thank you!”

  • Staying Sharp with Sharing and School Supplies

    Funded Sep 10, 2019

You are a hero! Thank you for your generous donation to our classroom. The students were so excited to hear their first Donor's Choose was funded! They did not know what to expect, but when the boxes arrived the smiles on their faces grew. They were happy to see the fancy color pencils and were eager to share them with each other. When they received their first EXPO marker they held them like they were made of gold. They are currently using the EXPO markers to reflect, edit, and revise their writing. They also love the mechanical pencil sharpener because it is quiet and lights up when it is done, allowing the pencils to last longer. They already used the supplies to create a "Dot Day" project that let their creativity and imagination flow. I heard them collaborate and discuss strategies to share each supply based on what they learned in class. They all enjoy the brand new pencils, sharpeners, and glue sticks. I cannot wait to see the amazing work they will create with these supplies throughout the year.

The students learned how to become a better team member by sharing, listening, and using response frames. It is a delight to see them learn these important life skills. They are building responsibility, collaboration, and group skills every day with your thoughtful donation. Thank you so much, we love it!”

  • Staying Healthy Means Staying Happy

    Funded May 13, 2019

Thank you for the wonderful supplies to keep students healthy and happy. The more days students are in the classroom the more days they learn, achieve, grow, collaborate, and have fun. The students were shocked and excited to see several huge boxes of supplies arrive in the classroom. Our scholars were so appreciative of the supplies that some students came in after school to stack and play with them. The students are using the Kleenex and hand sanitizer daily, and have already used the gloves in a science STEM project. Thank you for your kindness and generosity!”

We are a classroom full of learning and love, AVID claps and knowledge that no matter where we start or how little we have, we will and can achieve goals with effort and each other. I have the best students in the world, and we are a big family that supports each other and shares in each student's success. We are a diverse class full of students that learn in a variety of ways. We enjoy STEM activities, hands-on science, and interactive math lessons. We break the norm and have a room full of scholars who learn to code computers, create and explore engineering goals, use green screens, and even learn to type and use google docs in third grade. Everyday we smile and have a fun environment full of skills for every student to believe--- and know they can, and will, go to college no matter where they started or where they come from.
