  • Empowering Students Through the Arts: Card Creation

    Funded Feb 23, 2016

I want to thank you again for helping support this project. Creating cards has been such a great hands-on experience for my students. The moment the students seen our package they were filled with joy and excitement. Students were eager to get materials in their hands and begin creating cards for children.

Over the past few weeks students have been able use the various supplies to create beautiful cards Students have been using technology to find card ideas and poems. The markers, paper, stickers, stapler, and color pencils have supported students in creating colorful and exciting new cards. The lesson of compassion and caring for others has trickled down into our classroom. Having the students work on these cards has help create a more firm culture of caring. Students are asking to help their classmates and using kind words.

You have provided us with a gift that keeps on giving. Our card creations have given us a lesson to carry with us for a lifetime. A lesson of LOVE.

Thank you for transforming our hearts!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Williams

I am a 3rd grade teacher who loves to inspire children. My classroom is lively and engaging. My mission is to positive impact the lives of students and their families. My goal is to empower students with the feeling of possibility. I want them to walk away knowing that someone cares for them and believes in their ability. My purpose is to be their champion, rooting and cheering for them. Being their advocate in and out the classroom. In Title I schools many children come from low income/poverty stricken homes. My school has a high population of ELLs and often have little to no exposure to the activities and resources I want for them. I, like hundreds of other teachers around the country, want to give each of my students the tools they need to succeed and that includes a knowledgeable teacher. Help me be the best teacher I can be. Thank you for making an investment into the lives of my students.
