  • Reading Online with Raz Kids

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

Wow, Thank you so much for providing my students with level reading materials. Raz Kids has been an asset to our in person and virtual classroom settings. Students now have access to thousands of books, poems, and recordings to help foster a love for reading. During our guided reading or independent reading time students are able to read on their individual level and make gains. Students have enjoyed being able to move in their reading level, build reading rockets, and taking quizzes.

Since the district no longer funds this program for schools your donation has allowed students to continue to use a familiar resource during a time when things are ever changing.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Williams

  • Reading the News Scholastic Way

    Funded Jul 6, 2020

Scholastic News and Story Works have been a hit for the students. They were excited to see the colorful magazines and use them during guided reading. The magazines have current events that pulls students interest. As we are working to gain reading comprehension skills and improve reading stamina Scholastic materials.

I have also been able to share some of these extra materials with my coworkers so that they can use them for their classroom. Seeing the gains students are making with these materials we will consider how as a team we can use Scholastic in the future.

Again, thank you for making an impact in my classroom.”

  • Kids Just Want to Have Fun!!

    Funded Dec 2, 2020

Thank you so much for providing my students with material for outdoor recess. When the students seen the box full of sidewalk chalk and stencils their mouth dropped to the floor and screams of excitement filled the air.

Good-bye to using the same one piece of chalk day after day. Hello, this whole container of chalk is ALL YOURS!! Needless to say because of you recess was extra special before an extended winter break. The kids were excited to express their creativity and share their creations with everyone.

Thank you for being a bit of sunshine our way!”

  • Virtual Hands on Math

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

It is always a great feeling to start the school year off with needed materials in hand. You made it possible for students to have their own white boards, dry erase markers, erasers, and fraction manipulatives. Students have already begun to use their dry erase materials. This makes showing their work from home easier for me to read in zoom sessions. This also allows students to quickly erase and be ready for the next problem.

As we move forward in our math curriculum students will begin to use their fraction tiles. I know that this will be a game changer for students. Fractions is a concept that require hands on practice and manipulation. With your help they will know be able to achieve that skill.

Thank you so much for investing in my students!”

  • OG Small Group Ready

    Funded Sep 28, 2020

My Orton-Gillingham small groups are up and running. Students LOVE, LOVE, LOVE phonics small groups. They are able to keep their materials in their new sturdy folders that transport back and forth from school easily. The pencil pouch fits right in and hold their resources. Students were so happy to receive and explore the folders.

The small boxes and rice are also a favorite by the students. They have enjoyed using this tactile modality to write and practice letters and their sounds. Best of all there is no mess or clean up. The boxes are deep enough to make the letter shape in the rice, shake, and move to the next without any pieces hitting the floor.

Thank you, thank you, for your support of my students. Through the new changes for school we are still able to soar because of YOU!!”

  • Listen and Speaking in Zoom

    Funded Oct 23, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donation and support of my students. I can not tell you enough the difference these headphones have made in the classroom and at the homes of my students.

Students were thrilled to know that these headphones were theirs to keep. As students travel back and forth between in person and virtual learning they have carried their headphones with pride. Students are able to drown out the distractions at home and focus on learning. The build in mic makes it easy for students to speak without having to yell.

Again, we thank you for your support in such a time as this.”

    Mrs. Williams

  • Let's Read About the World

    Funded Apr 6, 2020

With excitement I add these wonderful book title to our classroom library. After being out of the classroom due to COVID-19, it is refreshing to see all these great book titles that I have to share with students. I will be welcoming students back into the classroom the first week of November. These new additions will be there waiting for the students return. Being out of the school building and away from hands on items, I am certain that the students will be thrilled to be able to read these books and learned about events, people, places, and things of the past.

Thank you for investing into the lives of my students.”

  • Read with Me!!

    Funded Mar 7, 2020

Reading at home now has a brand new and more impactful meaning than ever. Due to COVID-19 students are at home with their families working through virtual learning. This provides students an extended amount of time to be home completing assignments. This has proven difficult to families that speak a language other than English. Now more than ever students need a way to connect with their families. The used of bilingual and Spanish books has helped to alleviate the barrier that comes with not knowing the English language.”

  • LEGOS for Homework?

    Funded Dec 5, 2019

I can not thank you enough for your generous giving. The Legos have become a buzz in the classroom. Students asking questions about how they will be allow to get the Legos into their homes. This is a great start to my ultimate goal.

Legos are toys students love to play with. This makes for a great way to encourage students to use their creative writing skills. As students are writing and sharing their story creations it allows students to gain practice with a much needed skill. Our new curriculum contains a lot of informative and creative writing. The use of Legos provides students with a fun way to practice the lessons being taught in class.”

  • Supporting the Needs of Students

    Funded Dec 5, 2019

Thank you so much for your dedication to my students. Students with special needs often require modifications to help level the playing field. The pencil holders have been a game changer in the classroom. The students that need to use these are able to use the weight and size of the gripper to help with the impression that goes onto their paper. This allows the students and myself to be able to see their writing.

As the students have been able to use the desk hand and foot fidget apparatus has allowed students to expel their excess energy in a way that does not disturb their classmates or the lessons being taught.”

I am a 3rd grade teacher who loves to inspire children. My classroom is lively and engaging. My mission is to positive impact the lives of students and their families. My goal is to empower students with the feeling of possibility. I want them to walk away knowing that someone cares for them and believes in their ability. My purpose is to be their champion, rooting and cheering for them. Being their advocate in and out the classroom. In Title I schools many children come from low income/poverty stricken homes. My school has a high population of ELLs and often have little to no exposure to the activities and resources I want for them. I, like hundreds of other teachers around the country, want to give each of my students the tools they need to succeed and that includes a knowledgeable teacher. Help me be the best teacher I can be. Thank you for making an investment into the lives of my students.
