Immersive Learning
Funded Oct 23, 2019The resources you donated to my classroom have really made a difference this school year! My students are not familiar with Breakout EDU and the escape room activities. They were so excited when they found out we were being gifted a fun escape room learning program. They instantly asked me if we could do one. Of course, I said yes and we tried our first Breakout EDU just a week after we got the kit. It was a lot of work setting it up, but it all paid off when each group of students got to spend their class time out of their seats, interacting with one another, and using their knowledge to solve challenging puzzles. The skills they are learning with this kit is well beyond the academic content.
I've used my Breakout EDU kit for my 6th grade World Civilizations class, my 6th grade Earth Science class, and my 8th grade Wildlife Biology class. All of my students, from 6th grade to 8th grade, enjoy this type of interactive learning. I enjoy seeing their faces when they solve a riddle or find a hidden code. The best part is when they finally break open the large black Breakout EDU box and find the hidden treasure or secret note inside.
I have also had many students use the conservation book set we received thanks to you! I have many young minds eager to learn how they can help our beautiful earth and looking for ways to make a difference for the upcoming generations. These books are very much appreciated!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Larsen

Funded Oct 9, 2017My students have been so happy with the new flexible seating! These seats provide a wonderful way for them to wiggle and move, while still learning. We are also enjoying the amazing array of animal exhibits that were purchased for our science needs. Having these exhibits in the classroom has also opened up dialog between students and given them many things to write stories about. Our favorite so far is the hermit crabs, but they still have the baby chicks that will be hatching in the spring. We'll see what their favorites are then.
Again, we are so appreciative of your gifts and want you to know they have made a wonderful impact to our first grade learning!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Larsen
