If my project is fully funded, I plan to create STEM choice bins for my students to explore at the start of each day. These choice bins will give all students a chance to succeed. With traditional morning work, students all work on the same worksheet. The students who do well with it finish early and want extra activities, while the students who struggle continue to struggle as traditional morning work is not differentiated to meet all students' needs. STEM choice bins will allow my students to practice critical thinking skills, collaboration, artistic expression, communication, leadership, and problem solving. My hope is to provide the students with an opportunity to build relationships, communicate, and help them work on skills that are essential in the 21st century. Starting our day with STEM choice bins will lead to a successful rest of the day!
