Paving the Road to Sucess
Funded Oct 21, 2021I appreciate your support. Your generous donation helped my students achieve beyond their stated goals. Students submerged themselves in the books making mental movies in their minds and actively reading by asking questions, making predictions, and analyzing characters.
Students transfer the knowledge they learn from their reading to their writing. Students improve their writing by writing grammatically correct sentences that are correctly punctuated. Students can draw conclusions, make inferences and record their thinking clearly when answering higher-order thinking questions.
The resources positively impacted my students. They enjoy reading even more and are looking forward to more reading adventures as they get older.”

Funded Mar 7, 2020Thank you for your donations. My student increases the amount of time they read, increasing their reading level. They also developed a love for reading. They read different genres and shared their findings with their peers. Students developed such a love for reading that they continued the practice at home. Parents informed me that their children are always engrossed in a book. They were reading to their siblings and friends. Without the materials, my students would not have the opportunity to improve their reading life. Your support was greatly appreciated!”

Funded Jul 30, 2019My students really love the writing center. They always request to work there. When it is time for book club, the students always want to do their reading there. They have expressed to me on numerous occasions, that the writing center allows them to think, and be creative. They feel free and inspired to do big work in that area. Most of my students never saw a writing center before, so they were really intrigued by it. They spend as much time as possible in that area. I am very grateful for the support and encouragement that you have given to my class. This writing center has really made a difference in all academic area.”

Funded Dec 2, 2014My students truly enjoy reading the Time for Kids Magazines that you donated to my classroom. They find it to be informative, interesting and engaging. They love reading topics that are both age - appropriate yet informative. The magazines allowed my students to keep up with what's happening in the world. They tell me that they feel a connection to the magazine because the articles deal with topics that are controversial but surprisingly something they can relate to. They love the graphics and the questions that challenge them to think about the issues. Finally, my students inform me that they love sharing the magazine with member of their family. The issues also give students a feeling of appreciation for what they have.
My class has truly been blessed. We use the magazine in multiple faucets. We use it as a cross curricular resource to complete homework, class work and projects in all subject areas. The magazine offers a wealth of information about current events, popular culture and other environmental issues. These stimulating material offer relevant and fun information to my class. Issues that would be viewed as boring or uninterested are now highly receptive. The graphics such as the maps allow my students to have a point of reference when they are analyzing the material for class discussion or debates.
The Time Magazine for Kids has truly impacted my teaching. Students are now required to read more and more informational text. After reading these texts they are asked to answer text dependent questions. The Time for Kids magazine has prepared my students for these types of assignments. The magazines allow my students to read an array of informational text and practice how to answer these types of text dependent questions. My students are not as intimidated by informational text anymore. Instead, they use a variety of reading strategies to help them leave their footprint on the text. I am grateful for your donation. Without your generosity, my students would not be making academic strides. Thank you is an understatement. I am beyond grateful. I wish you happiness and success in all that you do.”
