Fantastic Folders
Funded Aug 25, 2019My students are using the new folders to house their artwork. When they first saw the folders, they were super excited that they did not have to use the old ones that were marked up and torn from prior years. The art studio looks even more bright and colorful with our new folders at hand. Various art projects will be stored in these folders. Some of our future projects include Kandinsky-Inspired Artwork, portraiture, color theory artworks, and landscapes. Having an organized art room is everything! It sets the tone for the year and shows students the importance of being orderly and tidy. Thank you again for your generous donation to this cause!”

Funded Mar 27, 2019Words are not enough to express how grateful we are for having this grant funded. The students are actively using their looms to create beautiful weaving designs. They are so grateful and excited. They find the weaving experience relaxing and meditative. They are learning a most unique skill. They are realizing the value of their clothing, how things are made, and how much time, effort, and patience are required. Thank you again for giving my students this invaluable experience. You are truly valued.”

Art! Art! Read All About It!
Funded Apr 6, 2019My students are so thankful for your generous donation of Scholastic Art Magazine for the upcoming school year. Having another resource from which students can learn and grow artistically is a powerful tool to have in ones arsenal. I believe with the addition of this magazine to our curriculum, students will be excited to implement some of the ideas they read about. Students will read about up and coming artists as well as art vocabulary. This will keep them up to speed with the current events in the world of art. Thank you for your continued support in the quest to support the arts.”

Sassy Sketchbooks
Funded Dec 18, 2018Students were super excited when they received their sketchbooks. They are using them to record information from class, create drawings and sketches, and write ideas. When receiving the sketchbooks, many students were shocked that they were being given their own sketchbook. They are learning that people do care about their artistic process, creativity, and imagination. Thanks to your help and support, my students are well on their way to designing amazing works of art. We are so grateful and thank you once again!!”

Funded Nov 16, 2018My students and I are utilizing the art materials to the fullest! The glue sticks are always running out and now we have lots of glue to secure our projects together! The ink cartridges allow me to print out numerous handouts for the students and display signs and posters in the classroom. Students were super excited when they saw quilling strips for the first time. They are still trying to get the hang of using them. I use the karaoke microphone daily and it is a real hit in the classroom. Using the microphone helps my teaching and makes it even more fun. Students get a chance to use it as well when they present their work to their classmates. The students love getting stickers as incentives for great work and participation. Without your help and support, none of these things would be possible. Thank you for caring and more importantly, thank you for supporting the arts.”

Funded Dec 5, 2017My students are using the new resources to create their own books. They are creating their own personal stories and illustrating them. The resources you provided are enriching this experience for them. They are using the stampers to create pattern in their work.
When they first saw the materials, they were super excited at the idea of how to use the resources. Students will be writing more and adding more to their books. They are also using the materials to create a springtime project. Thank you so much for this donation. The students truly appreciate it.”

Paint the Night Away
Funded Nov 4, 2017My students are enjoying the paint and paper you so generously donated. When they first saw the materials, their faces lit up as they were super excited to see fresh and new looking paint. They all wanted to work with it! We have large classes so they will share the paint. The paint will be used to complete a project we are currently working on. Students are learning how to paint portraits after viewing the artwork of Henri Matisse. Henri Matisse was a master of color and so the students will be able to express themselves through the colorful paints you sent us. Thank you again for your help and we are grateful.”

iPad for Artists' Inspiration
Funded Nov 7, 2017There are moments in teaching that I consider to be "AHA" moments. Moments where as an educator, I am in awe of how well my students absorb the lessons taught to them and are positively impacted by the arts. The Ipad has been such a tremendous help in the classroom. Students feel more confident in carrying out tasks related to their project. They now have an additional resource at their fingertips. Students use the Ipad technology when they want to look up images for reference. For example, students are planning to create Native American masks and wished to add the likeness of an animal. They immediately used the Ipad to access animal images, which were in full color and clear to see. This is evident from one of the photos seen. Additionally, students recently learned about the artist Marc Chagall and his works. They were able to reference his work on the spot, zoom in on the image, and speak about the work all while working on their project. No time is wasted!
Thank you Donors Choose for all of your hard work and to all the donors who made this possible. What was once a dream has now become a reality. And all the thanks goes to you, our donors.”

Let's Create in 3-D
Funded Nov 30, 2016My students are using the clay as they create unique creations and pinch pots. When they first saw the materials, my students were beyond excited! For many of them, this was a first time working with actual clay. The look on their faces was priceless.
Working with a three-dimensional art media that utilizes motor skills, finger dexterity, and control, truly expanded their overall art experience. For many of my students, working with clay opened up another world to them. A world where there are no mistakes, where whatever they create is incredible, and where there is no right answer. They have learned how to cope with challenges encountered along the way and most importantly they discovered more ways to have fun! Thank you! We are grateful.”

"A Night At the Museum" Revisited
Funded Dec 23, 2015My students used the Chinese bamboo brushes to create beautiful cherry blossom trees with India Ink. We completed a unit of study on Chinese Ming porcelain vases. Students also used the brushes to create Chinese symbols in their artwork. This was a new experience for them as they had never used a specialized brush such as this one before. Many of my students come from various cultural backgrounds, including Chinese, so sharing this project with them was a special gift. When students first saw the brushes, they were super excited as they never used them before! It was a challenge for them but truly helped them grow as artists. Thank you so much Donors Choose!”
