Clay Creations
Funded Dec 4, 2024Thank you so much for the clay, specialty clay tools, clay cutter, clay extruders, and assorted clay rollers. We have been using them in art to create beautiful clay sculptures.
When my students first saw the materials, they were so excited to get their hands on real clay! It is because of donors like you, that my students have the opportunity to create artwork in various mediums.
Clay is such a wonderful art medium to work with as it is so therapeutic in nature. Students can express themselves in an entirely different modality and many find it to be fun and soothing to the soul. Thank you again for your generosity. Every time I see them working with the clay and clay tools, I think of how grateful I am for your continued support of the Arts.”

Funded Dec 4, 2024It is with great pleasure that I am thanking you for your generosity and your support. My students and I are overwhelmed by the number of ways the world has provided educational outlets. When I put up a project for funding, I am not sure if it will be completed or archived. I always hope for the best and in most cases I am surprised but pleased at the result. Every few years it is nice to give the students updated technology in the art room, even if in the form of a tablet. This lets us explore the possibilities of the world around us and reference things needed for a project. Thank you for helping us keep this process alive. It helps keep students engaged in the learning process and also helps them write/type their artist statements on Artsonia.com, a website that we use to save our artwork digitally, portfolio style.”

Funded May 27, 2021Having the opportunity to provide my students with art materials such as chalk pastels, oil pastels, paper, glue sticks, and colored construction paper so they can continue creating beautiful works of art was priceless. They were so grateful to have those materials to use in school and at home. My students learned new art making skills while reviewing previous learned knowledge. They continue to sharpen their art skills and techniques which helps them feel more relaxed, knowing they have what they need. I thank you for your generosity and compassion for our children.”

Funded Aug 12, 2020My students are using their new watercolor paints to create exciting and beautiful art projects. Some of my students are at school while others at learning remotely from home. Having these art materials by their side not only excites them but encourages them to continue creating art. Some of my students just completed their unit painting Miro-inspired Figures using watercolor paint. Moving forward into the Winter season, students will be able to use their watercolor paints to learn different watercolor painting techniques which will enhance their repertoire of painting skills and ability to further develop their artistic abilities. Thank you for your generosity.”

Let's Have Fun With Paint
Funded Aug 11, 2020Thank you so much for the watercolor paints that were donated for my students. Knowing they have the materials they need while working from home and some in school puts my mind and theirs at ease. They can create works of art using their watercolor paint such as artist inspired works by Joan Miro, Henri Matisse, and Salvador Dali, etc. When students first saw their art materials they were elated. They will be able to learn more watercolor techniques which will only enhance their artistic skills and creativity.”

Funded May 5, 2020Due to Covid-19, students have been remote learning. In collaboration with their classroom teacher, Mrs. Engel, students have expressed their gratitude for the art materials despite not physically being able to use them yet as they are not in school at the moment.
Employing the style of artist Nicholas Hlobo, students will use symbols and maps to create an autobiographical identity map. Students' work will be joined to form a tapestry of unity. Using various collage papers, water soluble colored pencils, and glue, students will create a work of art to be displayed as a paper quilt. The hole punchers will be used to create holes in our quilt. The students will use yarn to tie and join their works together.
Through connecting their unique individuality to showcase their similarities, students will come to the awareness that we are all connected, despite our differences. With recent events that have transpired in the world, having students understand this idea is more important now than ever. Thank you for making this project possible.”

Funded Jan 1, 2020Having a new drying rack in the art room is a gift! Now students will be able to systematically and temporarily store their wet creations safely! No more rushing to take out other students' work to accommodate for the new works that need to dry. A drying rack is a tool we use in the art room to dry our works whether it has glue, paint, or any other material that needs drying time. When you have classes back to back and each class has 32 students in it, you can imagine how helpful having another drying rack is for an art educator as well as students! Having some new colored pencils is an added bonus for students to create colorful works of art!”

Funded Dec 5, 2019My students and I wish to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your donation of the record player and speaker. I have to get records in order to use it but we are one step closer! Some of the students never even knew what a record player is! What a joy it will be for students to hear beautiful melodies and songs while they create wondrous works of art. Music combined with art have the capacity to heal and add as an enhancement to the experience of creating art. I hope to share more photos of our using the record player!”

Funded Jun 19, 2019Thank you for your donation of watercolor paper, paint tempera sax biggie cakes, drawing paper, and glue sticks. What a wonderful way to begin the school year with these art materials waiting for us at our door. Creating beautiful works of art is even easier with special materials. Having high quality paper and watercolor paper means that when my students take a brush to paper, pencil, etc. they do not have to worry about putting a hole in the paper from overuse. Students will use these resources to create landscapes, portraits, and other genres of art. When they first saw the materials, they were super excited. Thank you again for coming through for my students!”
