My students are of high school age and attend an urban school with limited resources. They come from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Thier home lives are quite varied and many of them have only had a cursory exposure to art. A large percentage of my students have had challenging life experiences and are struggling with processing and managing their emotions. The imagery and projects that they engage with in my classroom has helped them to express themselves in positive ways.
