  • You Light Up Our Lives- Art Students Need Light Boards

    Funded May 4, 2022

The light boards have been a wonderful tool to use in our elementary visual arts classroom this year. So far they've been used by grades 3 and 5 to help give students a boost of confidence and the ability to create work they can add extra details and personalizations to.

Third graders created a parody of the Mona Lisa and a LEGO mini figure self portrait. Fifth grade artists used them for a pop art project where they repeated candy wrappers and then made one the main emphasis by using color and shading. They used colored pencils artist CJ Hendry as an inspiration. The results were super impressive and looked incredible in our end of the year art exhibition.

We will use these light boards for years to come, thank you so much for your generosity and support.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Fiorino

  • Elementary Artists Need Watercolor Paper-Let's Paint Without Limits Pt 2

    Funded Feb 7, 2022

Painting with my elementary visual artists is always an adventure. They love working with enriching materials like watercolors and tempera cakes. Having access to these large scale watercolor paper has given us freedom to paint to our heart's content.

My middle school art club students have also joined in on the experience and made their own still life paintings of houseplants.

I will attach pictures of some finished work as well as many works in progress. Please know that although the end of this school year is drawing close, your donation will help us continue painting next year as well. Thank you for your support and for helping our program continue to challenge and reinforce our expressive endeavors.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Fiorino

  • Help Build Our Art Classroom Drawing Enrichment Library

    Funded Jan 10, 2022

I know the project was just funded recently, but the books have arrived and my students are absolutely over the moon. They have become a daily source of enrichment and enthusiasm. Early finishers can access the drawing reference library while the rest of the class finishes up their work. Some books are very popular and I love watching the students working cooperatively, taking turns and complimenting each other. They are fostering confidence and drawing comfort levels are being raised. Thank you again for your support, please know these books will continue being used and treasured for years to come.”

  • Help Fill in the Blanks & Keep Art Room Tidy

    Funded Nov 2, 2021

Thank you so much for your continued support of my visual arts classroom.

Covid protocols and being back in person has been a difficult adjustment for many of my students. Thankfully the art classroom is a place where they can be themselves, gain confidence and take creative risks.

Drawing and painting is always a favorite. We always need paper and my students thoroughly enjoy using watercolors. The messy mats have been a lifesaver and are so easy to use to keep our desks clean. I will attach some photos of the last few projects we have done before the winter break.

Thank you again for your generosity and wishing you a Happy New Year!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Fiorino

  • Let's Get Printing in Elementary Visual Arts

    Funded Aug 13, 2021

Having access to a printer and ink has been a lifesaver in the art room. I can't always rely on technology like iPads and smart boards for visual references, but printing is a snap.

Students have been using the visual references for drawing, painting and inspiring them to create. It is also wonderful to be able to create posters, print directions, worksheets and bulletin board labels for display.

Having both the regular printer paper and the tag board is helpful to create lasting documents that can be used and reused for many years. Thank you again for your generosity and support of my elementary visual arts classroom.”

  • Immerse our Arts Program in SEL Painting Projects

    Funded May 4, 2021

Having access to these multi cultural markers and paint with various skin tones has allowed for my students not only to have more choices, but to feel included, validated and reflected within the art curriculum. Our art room is a safe haven where social emotional learning is an important component in learning and creative expression.

Every student deserves to feel welcome and included- everyday students check in with our floor mood meter and get to jump to their feeling and we take a few minutes to discuss anything that might be hindering our ability to focus on today's lesson.

Thank you again for your continued support of my elementary visual arts program.”

  • Artists Need Bright Paper For Creating Collage

    Funded Aug 16, 2021

Collage is a favorite medium of mine, especially at an elementary level. The students love having access to bright colors and enjoy the action of cutting, gluing and assembling their artwork. Paper can be quite an expense and having access to quality, bright paper can be a luxury. I am so grateful that my students have the opportunity to use a variety of skin tones, as well as a rainbow of colors to chose from when creating their works of art. We've been very busy creating this year and I will attach some examples of finished work and work in progress.

Thank you again for your continuing support of my elementary visual arts program and sharing my vision for reaching children.”

  • Art Essentials Needed for Creative Learning

    Funded Jun 29, 2021

I wanted to update you on our creative endeavors in my elementary visual arts classroom. This school year is off to an enriching start thanks to your generosity in helping to get these essential supplies to my young artists. Across all grade levels in our K-5 school, students have had access to and made good use of the basic supplies like glue sticks, crayons. colored pencils, sharpie markers and shape templates. I will upload pictures of some of the work in progress and I can't thank you enough for your continuing support of our artistic expression and creative problem solving. It's been an emotionally challenging last few years for all of us and I truly believe that the arts are healing and centering force.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Fiorino

  • SOS- Save Our Supplies - Elementary Artists in Need

    Funded May 4, 2021

Thank you so much for this contribution of art supplies for my visual arts elementary classroom. My students always need essential supplies like glue sticks, black felt markers and paint sticks.

We have used these supplies for so many enriching art projects like collages, paintings and drawings. I have attached some images of finished artwork and art in progress across all my K-5 grade levels.

This year we are continuing to benefit from access to these materials and I can't wait to see all the amazing art we create this year!”

  • Supplemental Art Supplies For Blended Learning

    Funded Oct 12, 2020

Having access to art supplies during remote learning has made a major impact on my art students ability to thrive and hold on to their creative problem solving skills.

The materials really are essential during these times when human connection and interaction are limited to a screen. Being able to use actual art materials like colored pencils, markers, scissors and glue has been a wonderful opportunity that most children in school would take for granted.

Having ownership of these materials has also taught them respect and care in managing their own supplies.

Thank you for your generosity and continued support,”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Fiorino
