Gelli Printmaking
Funded Nov 14, 2024Thank you so much for your generosity to help support our project. My third grade students recently completed their collagraph printmaking project. They glued artist foam onto cardboard. Then when dry we used the brayers to ink up their printing plates. They made five prints on different colors of the neon papers. Students mounted their four best prints on a large square piece of black paper. The project was a great success!
I am still learning how to use the gelli plates, and figuring out the best procedures for using and cleaning them with my elementary students. I want to make sure that they are well taken care of so we can continue to use them for many years.”

Funded Mar 27, 2024Thank you very much for your generosity with your contribution to our "Glow Art" project! My students are so excited to create glow art!
The neon and florescent colors look great, both glowing under black light, or in regular light. It sure adds a new fun way for students to create and appreciate viewing and creating art in different light... literally.
All of my elementary art students will get the opportunity to create their own glow art this year, and for years to come!!! Thank you again for helping make the "Glow Art" project possible!”

Funded May 9, 2023Thank you for your generous donation for our Paint Sticks for Creating! My elementary students LOVE using them!
Some favorite projects we use them on are our second grade Romero Britto Inspired art. Students used the bright colorful hues of the paint sticks in their backgrounds.
Another favorite is our the kindergarten Jasper Johns Inspired ABCs & 123s.
We also used the to make abstract trees inspired by Wassily Kandinsky this fall that are currently adorning the hallways in our school.
They are a wonderful new art medium that is super kid friendly. I have been having fun finding new ways to use them and designing new lessons with them.
Sincere thanks!”

Funded Aug 24, 2022Thank you very much for making the project "3D Printing Pens" possible! Your contribution was greatly appreciated. Lakeview third and fourth grade students have enjoyed creating snowflakes and ornaments with them recently. We will continue to create with them throughout the school year, and for years to come.
It is wonderful to have enough pens and materials for students to all have the option to create with them at the same time! In the past I had a limited number of 3Doodler Start Pens and students would have to share, making it sometimes tricky when deciding who would get to keep the collaborative projects. The students really enjoyed using this new STEAM based art media in class.
Thank you again for your generosity; and thinking of my little artists at Lakeview!”

Funded Dec 1, 2021Thank you for funding Kwik Stix for Creating! My students absolutely LOVE using them.
For most students this is a fun new medium for them to create with. My junior kindergarten student used them to create their hot coco mugs. Because they dry in ninety seconds, we were able to get this project completed in one class period with no mess!
My second grade students are using them to create their Romero Britto Inspired art projects. Students created a picture of something that brings joy to them with pencil, then used the Kwik Stixs to paint their entire paper. The second day we will use tempera paint to add patterns in the style of Britto, and black outlines. The bright colors really make these projects pop! The results are amazing!
Again, thank you for making the Kwik Stix for Creating possible!”

Funded Dec 1, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donation. My students are always so eager to paint in art class. They light up with excitement when they walk into art class and learn that we are painting that day.
Students have LOVED painting with the new neon and florescent color tempera cakes. It really added several new colors for them to choose from.
First and second grade students just recently completed their Henri Matisse Inspired Hot Cocoa projects and the results are stunning. The bright colors used on their projects really brighten up the hallways of the school during the cold winter.
Thank you for supporting the Arts!”

Funded Dec 12, 2019Thank you very much for your generosity. The child size artist smocks have been wonderful to use. Children are no longer getting their clothes and shirt sleeves all full of paint. It makes painting a much more enjoyable experience for all.
The new colors of the giant tempera cakes the students are loving. They enjoy getting new materials, and more color choices for their art making. The giant tempera cakes get used often, by all grades. They have the effect of watercolor, but last ten times longer it seems.
Thank you again for helping out Lakeview Elementary Art!”

Little Artists Creating in 3D!
Funded May 23, 2018Again, thank you for your generosity and donation to my project Little Artists Creating in 3D! My elementary art students are very excited about our new 3D Doodler Pens and getting to try them out this school year. So far this school year a few of my third and fourth grade students have been able to give them a try. I hope all of my students will have a chance to use them sometime over the course of the school year.
The students have been very good about teaching each other how to use them and sharing. They have been working collaboratively to create some of the designs in the quick start activity guide it came with. I can't wait to see the original designs they will come up with once they get the hang of them more.
Our sincere thanks for making this possible!”

Funded Dec 31, 2017Thank you so much for your donation. You made our creating with LEGOs STEAM project possible.
My students absolutely love when they get to build and create with LEGOs. As an elementary art teacher, I see all 630 students in a week. The nice thing about LEGOs are they are not a consumable art supply, so they can be used for several years to come and all students in the school benefit from creating with them.
All ages of students enjoy making temporary "sculptural" pieces of art with the LEGOs, and then walk around and view others creations in a class critique.
My second and third graders learn about about architecture around the world and use the LEGOs to create blue print skyscrapers and actually paint/print with them one class period, and the next they build with them.”

Cray-Pens For Creating!
Funded Apr 2, 2017Thank you so much for helping fund my Cray-Pens for Creating project. It is wonderful to have enough cray-pens for my classes to use in art.
All fourth grade students have really been enjoying working in the new encaustic wax media. Their excitement is beyond measure when they come into art class and see the power strips and cords out, ready for them to plug their cray-pens into. The artwork they are creating is excellent. It is not artwork one would expect to see created by fourth graders, but upper grade level students.
The cray-pens are a valuable learning tool that students will be able to use and enjoy for many years to come. Without your generosity this opportunity would not have been possible for my art students. My sincere thanks!”
