Everything We Need
Funded Aug 15, 2024Thank you again for your very generous donation. My students and I are so excited with all of our items as they make our learning a lot more engaging, a lot more organized and beneficial to ALL learners in our classroom.
Students are really enjoying the materials such as the colored sand as an alternate way of learning how to write numbers. It is so fun to write letters in sand rather than with a pencil and paper. They are also having so much fun with being able to color and rainbow write with new crayons, markers and the fun twistable crayons. You would be surprised at how much a writing tool can engage a 5 year old.
One of the greatest things is seeing the motivation and engagement of students as they are beginning to blend sounds together to read words with magnetic wands and bingo chips. It really helps them understand how to put each individual sound together to read a word. Believe it or not, one of my favorite items is the simplest. The different colored folders make a world of difference when trying to have 5 year olds work on their organizational skills and follow 1 step directions. My students are able to gather their materials and put them away on their own because they know what subject each color folder represents. This simple supply is very helpful when teaching them how to develop independence with self management skills. It is such a valuable skill to learn that they will be able to carry with them throughout their life. It is often the little things that count the most.
My students and I would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making a difference in our first year of school as kindergarteners.”

Funded Aug 8, 2022My students and I would like to thank you for your very generous donation. It is because of you that we have some new library books that we have really enjoyed reading as well as a nice organized place to keep all of our library books. We also have a beautiful calendar area that is aesthetically pleasing and not distracting while we are learning to count and sing our calendar songs each day. Finally, we are very excited to play with the new wooden 100 charts. We will get to play and learn with those real soon. Please know that we appreciate all that you have done for us.”

Funded Jul 18, 2021Thank you so much for all of the classroom supplies for my students. The children are using their pencil boxes daily to hold all of their materials that we got with the funds for the project as well (glue sticks, crayons, dry erase markers, and erasers) The students also use the folders to help stay organized and I use the heavy duty magnet clips to hang all of the charts at the front of the room for students to refer to during our lessons and throughout the day. We will begin using the social emotional learning books very soon to help supplement our circle curriculum. We all can't wait to get started. Thank you again for your kindness and generosity. It is because of you that we are able to stay organized and focused on learning!”

Funded Oct 24, 2019My students and I would like to thank you for all of the materials purchased within our project. We use the shelving trays to help us stay organized, the doorbell chime as an attention grabber and the dry erase boards to help us work and practice our math strategies. The super hold magnets and magnetic bar make it so we can have access to all of our learning anchor charts when we need them. The ability to transition from one topic to another is a game changer. We save time and we remain on task. We appreciate and thank you for your generous donation.”

Curious George Live Theater Experience!
Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you for your generous contribution to our project. Our first graders had an opportunity to experience live theater which we have been able to directly connect back to the common core state standards that we are currently teaching in Readers Workshop. From the moment the students walked in they were in awe of the beautiful theater and entranced by the actors and their ability to put on such an amazing show. This opportunity is one that we will forever be grateful for and provided the students with an experience that they will remember forever. Again, thank you for your generosity.”

Funded Oct 19, 2017I would like to express my gratitude for your generosity in donating to our project. It is because of people like you that there is a chance for my students to experience such lovely things to promote a love of literacy. My students are already more engaged and excited to participate in independent reading because of something so simple as a clean and comfortable space to sit. They are even asking to use the pillows when completing other independent work because it provides them with a sense of security to have a safe and clean place to work. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you again for your thoughtfulness and generosity.”

Fiction And Nonfiction Read Alongs
Funded Dec 11, 2016Thank you for donating to my project. It is because of you that my students now have access to books on their reading level for the listening center and classroom library. Students in my class range from Kindergarten reading levels up to 2nd grade reading levels. Until now, I have not had many books for the wide range of students reading abilities in my classroom. Students now have access to quality non-fiction books for them to read, listen to and use for research purposes during Writers Workshop. Also, we now have access to quality stories that will allow children to enjoy reading and have it be an adventure.
Once again, thank you for your support and generosity. You have truly made a difference.”

Online Reading Subscription
Funded Mar 10, 2016My class and I would like to extend a heart felt thank you for contributing to our online reading subscription project. We now have access to quality reading materials online and students are able to access these materials both at home and in the classroom. By contributing to our project you have also helped support families at home that may not have appropriate or quality reading materials in their home. By providing families with this resource you have given each child the opportunity to access these materials for homework or leisure reading. I work hard to foster a love for reading with my students and I also work hard to support parents in the best way possible so they can continue the hard work we do in school with their children. I am forever thankful for your generous contribution.”

Funded Dec 23, 2015Thank you for your donation to my project. My students are SO excited for their new monthly subscription of scholastic news.
