  • Diverse Learning With Technology!

    Funded Sep 2, 2017

Thank you so much for believing in my project. Having these tablets really makes a difference in my kids education. Technology use in schools is far different from technology use at home. Technology can be utilized in many beneficial ways. For instance, research for first graders is far easier with tablets. I am able to bookmark kid friendly sites on their topic area and have it ready for them to collect information for their writing. This is especially helpful because I don't always have a book they can use for research on a particular animal or topic, but there is always a kid friendly site with the information they need. The tablets are also getting them excited to want to do the work. Its a different feeling for them to look up information on a tablet then in a book.

The kids are most excited about the many different subject areas that we can use the tablet. I know that the more obvious way to use it is for research projects and trust me it is definitely being used for research, but it can be used for so much more than that. My kids use it to practice reading, grammar, math, and coding. They really enjoy listening to a story and being able to follow along. It definitely helps me as well. When planning a lesson, I know I can give a group tablets to practice a skill being taught in that subject area.

The tablets have helped all students in my class. Some of my kids get easily distracted with so much is going on. Giving them a tablet and headphones to work on a skill we just learned definitely keeps them on task. They all get excited to see their group has been assigned tablets. I love that they are working on the skills they need and its not a fight to get them to master it.

Words cannot express how grateful I am to have such amazing people who were able to donate to my project. You all really made a difference in my kids education!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Cordova

  • Supplies Supplies Supplies!

    Funded Nov 22, 2015

Thank you so much for your generosity. I can not wait to tell the class we will have new resources in the classroom. They are truly lucky to have you supporting us and their education.

Being parents of two of my wonderful kids, you know first hand how excited and inquisitive they get about new learning experiences. I know they will be ecstatic when our wonderful new supplies come to the classroom. I have noticed this year how much art means to them. They love everything from crafts to paints and this will truly help them express their creativity, as well as, build their socialization skills amongst each other.

I can never thank you enough for your help. This couldn't have been done without great people like you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Cordova

  • We Have Ants In Our Pants And Need Space On The Rug To Dance

    Funded Aug 25, 2014

Words can not express the gratitude I feel towards you and the generous gift you have given to my students. When we received the rug, they were amazed and loved it. They started hopping and counting the caterpillar. I wish you could have seen their faces when I explained to them that special people donated supplies to our class, they couldn't stop smiling. They couldn't wrap their head around the fact that people who never met them could be so generous!

This rug is truly a blessing. We are on the carpet a good portion of the day. They all can sit comfortably on their rug spots and still have room to wiggle around. We use the carpet for everything. The kids love reading on the rug, with buddies or alone or just cuddled on a pillow. They love laying on the rug while writing or complete a math activity. This is my dream come true! They all grab a clipboard and get right to work.

I couldn't have been able to have accomplished this without the generous help from you wonderful people.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Cordova

I am a kindergarten teacher in a Title 1 school. Nothing excites me more than seeing my little kinders excited to learn. I am lucky to have an amazing team to work with, allowing us to give these kids the fun-filled year they deserve. One of the many things I love about my kids is no matter their abilities, they give it their all every time. And I strongly encourage them to think outside of the box. It takes a lot of courage to dare to be different. I promote self-confidence because they are all amazing children and deserve to see it. My little ones are such bright, energetic, loving 5 year olds and their ambition astounds me. It is not easy watching them move on to the next grade at the end of the year, but it is a pleasure watching them grow into the amazing individuals I always knew they would be. Besides some of our greatest learning begins in kindergarten!
