Gardening is a wonderful, hands-on way of incorporating many opportunities for children to learn and grow. Lessons will include earth science (what plants need to grow and their parts), math (measurement, volume, area, graphing) and teamwork (taking turns, carrying out different duties and discovering one another's skills).
Our students admire nature and are motivated to create a place where they can learn real-life skills, collaborate with their classmates and observe their work over a school year.
Alongside devoted teachers, students will help build 14 raised garden beds. These beds will be divided so that each classroom, ranging in ages from 5-13 years old, have their very own space to plan, build, plant and care for their crops and flowers.
