Help Put Technology in the Hands of Students!
Funded Sep 16, 2020Thank you so very much for your generous donation to support bringing much needed technology to our hard-working middle school students, especially during these past sixteen months. Working with technology is such an important part of today's world, and having access to it can bring so many wonderful experiences into the classroom. The iPads, Apple Pencils & power strips all helped support both teachers & students during this challenging year of blended learning.
Teachers were able to teach both in-person & remote students at the same time using the iPads & Apple Pencils. Math teachers worked on problems digitally with students, the Art teacher shared student work, SPED teachers were able to differentiate tasks for individual students in order to help support all learned and Literature, Social Studies & our Spanish teachers were able to engage students with their interactive lessons. Our PE teacher was able to create videos of workouts for students. The power strips also allowed students to change their laptops during class, since laptops were being used during the whole school day.
Lastly, because of your generous donation, all students will benefit in our school, as this technology is shared with all grades and classes. Students can collaborate on cross-curricular projects, and in many classes use online platforms, like Google Classroom to post assignments, and help keep students organized in classes like Programming, Math, and Literature.
Thank you again for all of your support! It is because of donors like you, that we are able to expand and help deliver a rich and meaningful school experience to our children.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Anna

Working with technology is such an important part of today's world, and having access to it can bring so many wonderful experiences into the classroom. Our students have used our new Chromebooks in math class as a way to differentiate instruction and work on problems at their own level. Specifically, the 7th graders done research to do research and track real stocks for their Stock Market Project & the 8th graders have investigated linear relationships on Desmos.com.
Our 8th grade students have also used the Chromebooks to research potential high schools and areas that they are interested in, as they working hard on completing their high school applications. Having access to these resources in school can be especially helpful for students who may not have access to them at home. Working with the 8th grade students in particular, they are especially grateful to be able to learn about high schools that they are interested in and some have even gone on virtual tours of potential high schools.

Funded Dec 3, 2018Thank you so very much for your generous donation to our project to help bring technology to our school. Your donation went to fund nine new Chromebooks to be used in all of our classes, but particularly in math and science. For example since getting the laptops 8th graders have used them to review in Living Environment (science) and explore functions by modeling situations with graphs using Desmos. Having rich experiences like this in their classes takes the learning beyond the four walls of the classroom and make content come alive.
Thank you again for your support in bring more technology and inquiry into our school!”

Funded Mar 5, 2018Thank you so much for your generous donation to bring technology to our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. Because of your donation, we were able to fund laptop carts that each department can share in our school, so students across all content areas have access to technology in all of their core content classes: math, literature, science, and social students.
In math students have been able to access free online graphing tools to investigate real-world linear relationships, as well us use enrichment resources such as Delta Math, to support all levels of learners. In literature, students were able to write and send out formal persuasive letters to New York City officials about ways they can improve their community, as well as create presentations to share with their classmates on their latest book, Of Mice and Men. In science and social studies, the laptops are used to work on group work to analyze documents and collaborate with their classmates and teachers.
Being able to access these resources and collaborate with their peers is so important in middle school, and the students are excited to use the laptops to go beyond the four walls of our classroom. In particular, having this technology in our school allows students who may not have technology at home, to be able to engage with the material as well. We have a number of students who come up to work on the computers during their lunch time, so having these laptops for them allow them to get work done at their own pace.
Thank you again for all of your support and for helping to bringing this much needed technology into the hands of our middle school students.”

Funded Nov 15, 2017Thank you so very much for your generous donation to our project to help bring technology into the hands of our hard-working middle school students. With your support we have been able to have not only more Chromebook laptops for our students, but a new computer cart to help make sharing these resources easier between classes.
Since getting these new Chromebooks in math class, 8th grade student have continued to explore algebraic expressions using Desmos.com, and model geometric transformations using Geogebra.com. In 7th grade, students used the Chromebooks to plan our a cross-country road trip and connect what they know about algebraic expressions and equations to a very real-world concept. Connections like these are essential to ensuring that all students understand mathematics and see the relevance in their lives.
The number of students in our middle school is growing each year, and because of your generous donation, we can ensure that not only students this year, but students in the future can access these resources in our classrooms.
Thank you again, so very much for your generosity and support! This would not be possible without you!”

Funded Oct 4, 2017Thank you so very much for your generous donation supporting our middle school students. Our students use technology in many of their classes, including literature, math, and science, as well as their elective classes. In math class, students have explored linear and exponential functions on the coordinate plane, using rich online resources, like Desmos.com. In literature, students have written narrative essays based off what they are currently reading. In the Memory Makers elective, students are using this technology to work on creating the school yearbook for the 2017 - 2018 school year.
Using this technology has been a way to not only engage students, but to dig deeper into their content areas. In today's world it is important for students to learn how to work with technology as a tool, and thanks to you, more of our middle school students have access to it on a daily basis.
Being able to have access to these resources benefits all students in our school in 6th - 8th grade, as the computers are shared between all teachers in all content areas. Thanks to your support, we have been able to bring much needed technology into our school. Our goal is to engage and inspire all students in relevant ways, and these laptops play an important role, in making this happen. Thank you so very much for your support!”

Funded Jun 23, 2017Thank you so very much for your kind donation to support bringing laptops to our hard-working middle school students. Working with technology is such an important part of today's world, and having access to it can bring so many meaningful experiences into the classroom. Our 7th and 8th graders have used our new Chromebooks in math class as a way to differentiate instruction on Khan Academy and work on problems at their own level, in Literature to collaborate with their groups, and in Science to do research on topics they are learning about.
Our 8th grade students have also used the Chromebooks to research possible high schools and careers that they are interested in, as they work on completing their high school applications. Having access to these resources in school can be especially helpful for students who may not have access to them at home. Working with the 8th grade students in particular, they are especially grateful to be able to learn about high schools that they are interested in and some have even gone on virtual tours of potential high schools.
Lastly, because of your generous donation, all students will benefit in our middle school, as this technology is shared with all grades, teachers, and classes. Students can collaborate on cross-curricular projects, such as health and math and many classes use online platforms, like Google Classroom to post assignments and other resources, and help keep students organized in classes like Programming, Math, and Literature. This is particularly helpful for students who need help keeping their assignments organized.
Thank you again for all of your support! As our school continues to grow, it is because of donors like you, that we are able to expand and help deliver a rich and meaningful school experience to our children.”
