Although my school is Title 1, and nearly 70% free and reduced meals, the positivity and love radiates when you walk into my classroom. The first few weeks of school, instead of diving into curriculum, my students were taught to love themselves and accept their classmates. We worked on many classroom community and self-love activities to boost self-esteem and understanding. A majority of my students have a rough home life, and when they come to school, they are "home" and in their safe place. When you walk into my room, you will see students hard at work. They will be either in small groups, working independently, in partners, with an assistant, or in a whole group setting. My students love for learning is applaudable and even the struggling students are trying their hardest each and every day.
