  • Helping My Students Learn From Home.

    Funded Apr 17, 2020

The resources that were purchased for my students were given to each student to help them out at home. Without this donation I did not have enough to send home and have to help them at school. This was awesome to be able to give my students help at home.

The students were surprised because I had not mentioned getting anything. When the box came and I started unpacking they were so excited to see their new things. They thought they were staying at school for them to use. When I got the box things out and on to the table in a unique order. I asked each student to come get one of each item and take it to their desk. After everyone was in their seat looking at their items. I then told them they would be taking these things home to use there and they did not have to bring them back. They were so happy they started cheering and jumped up to get their book bags.

My next step will be to purchase more of these items for my class next year so that they can have it as soon as they enter my classroom. This way they will have the help from the beginning of school”

  • An Ear-Resistable Approach to Building Reading Skills

    Funded Aug 21, 2019

Thanks to your donation to our classroom. I was able to use the Dyslexia book and find ways to help my students learn. The book has games and information to help me teach students with Dyslexia. Also the ear buds helps the students listen to Epic books on our Ipads. We use the books your purchased to help the students who can not read learn to read. These books are low enough that they are actually improving little at a time and by the end of the year should be able to read at least on a first grade level.

I have put the books into our centers which means the students get to read the books daily in a group with me so I ensure that they are learning to read. We also use the books to find our sight words. Have you ever saw a child who is struggling to read it is so sad but now these students are learning to read slowly and are so proud of themselves. I have had a few take the books home so that they can read them to their families.

Reading within our classroom is whole group where we read a book together, then we break out into small groups where I work with the lower students and the others are given books that they can read together with struggling very little. The students then have to tell me what they have read and how they have enjoyed their story. So thank you again we truly appreciate the ear buds, white boards, Dyslexia books, and beginning reading books.”

  • Kangaroos in Classroom Learning to Read

    Funded Aug 21, 2019

Thank you for the red table we are enjoying it every day. We use this table as our desk so that we can work with our peers and learn from them also. We also do STEM activities which we could not do without the table. We also got ear phones these are phones that you use so you can whisper when you read and not one else knows what we are saying when we read silently in our classroom.

The students wanted to take the ear phones home but understood that if they did they would have no way to read silently when they wanted to during our flash light Friday. This is where the students are given one of the phones and a flash light and can pick and read any book they want. They love it now because I don't have to keep saying inside voices.”

  • Differential Seating

    Funded Aug 21, 2019

Thank you very much for stools, tables and various other items you donated to our classroom. The children can now work as groups and enjoy having the stool seating at their tables.

When I opened the boxes you would have thought it was Christmas they were thrilled and in fact kept trying to get them open faster. They have enjoyed the ear phones and activities from the books you purchased for teaching children with Dyslexia. I have also shared the books with our interventionist.

Now I just have to purchase two more tables and our room will be set up. Thanks again for your help.”

  • Robotics is a Great Way for Students to Learn.

    Funded Nov 27, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donations to our Stem products. When the boxes arrived the students could barely contain their enthusiasm. When the boxes were opened and the contents revealed our expectations were running high and we were not disappointed.

The students enjoyed using the Lego sets. While some projects flew high others scurried across the floor. It was amazing watching their small minds at work designing and redesigning until they got the result they were looking for. They students were asked to build something that would amaze me and show me that they could come up with an idea on paper and then construct the design using the Lego blocks.

As you can see from our pictures the students truly enjoyed building and putting their minds to work. The learning experience has been greatly enhanced by having these items available. So regardless of our learning abilities rather they be high or low the students enjoyed their Stem products. Thank you so much for letting my students enjoy this experience.”

My class is build with various types of students. We have ADHD, learning disabled, low learners, average and above average students. We all work together to help each other learn to read. Reading is a very important concept in our room. Without the help of others like you we would not be able to have a classroom where we are comfortable and like coming to. We love coming to work with new things, explore and being able to work with each other.
